Any Believers in the HOUSE?

Cool story Newbride. An election just went by....to think I could have sold my vote;) Need some extra cash right now, lol. I was hoping for a majority conservative, but I'll take minority. It's a start. Harper, our new PM said "God bless Canada" after his acceptance speach. It's the first time in 12 years that's been said in parliment. Liberals wouldn't even let any religious figures say any prayers or even comment after 9/11. I'm so glad to have a Christain "in the HOUSE".

Well, I'm christian but I have trouble believing. I'm a total skeptic and I prefer proof over believing and hoping. I also don't like a lot of things the Bible has to say. It's just too unbelievable for me, but maybe it's just my rebellious teenage hormones taking over. Who knows?...
 
I guess thats part of being a christian. You don't need proof, you believe. I don't understand everything in the bible and i'm 28. I believe when God wants me to understand certain things, he'll let me know. But at the same time, there are things that we really arn't to know. We are just to trust God's plan for us.

Hey girls I was just wondering if you could pray for a job interview that I have on Monday @ 10am! It is at a pediatritions office and would be a wonderful job...and I really need one!
 
I was so happy to see this thread. I just joined this site and I am glad to know that there are other Christians here. Perhaps we can all be a blessing to each other through prayer or even some other way. If anyone does want or need prayer please pm me as I would be more than happy to pray for you.

Georgia, glad to see your a fellow believer! Have you guys read the articles that say that people that pray for help w/ their diet, do much better than those who dont'?! I mean, they will ask God to tell them when they should go ahead and eat, and then when to stop, ect. Anyways, Ithink its neat!

On sunday I'm giving my testamony to the church board and I'm going to become a member!!! Its so exciting!

But it is human to struggle in my faith (and I do, a lot). I really want to believe with all my heart, but logic will interject with its "what ifs." And it's hard to shut my logical-brain off.

I've been struggling with my faith for awhile now. I can appreciate that some of the stories and parables in the bible may not be 100% true, but the morals are just and true. I don't have a problem dealing with that and living my life accordingly.

but Jesus as God versus Jesus as man - I often lose sleep over this and I wish I could just believe. Period. I want to believe. :(

I'm sorry your struggling to believe and I'll pray you find your way.

BUT, all the stories in the bible are absolutely 100% true. I totally totally believe that. Why would you think some parts are not true?

Jesus as God and Jesus as man really isnt' that hard to understand (i don't think anyhow) I mean. He's God. He can do anything. He came to earth to be an example to others how to live. He had to come to earth to die as the ultimate sacrafice for us. So that we can go to heaven. If you have a hard time thinking about how God, Jesus and the Holy spirit are all the same unit, think about an egg. You hold an egg, and its one unit, true? BUT there are 3 layers to this egg. THe shell, the yolk and the white. But you dotn' think of it as 3 things seperate. They are all one.

I was just going through this board and saw this...I actually got the job and started on my 21st b-day! So I've been working there since February...thank God I really needed this job.
