Anke's Diary

Alright, I'm back. I have now been married nearly 7 years! :)

Also, looking back at my goals from my last post, one I have reached is I STOPPED SMOKING CANNABIS DAILY (like 7 times a day). I am nearly 6 months sober!! :D

I am at the heaviest I have ever been, but my relationship with food is much better and less disordered, thanks to practicing intuitive eating for the last 4 years. Except when I try to "diet", then the all or nothing mentality creeps right back in.

So I'm here to have a diary again, as it helped me so much the times before. This time I'm going to change the way I live without "dieting".

NEW GOALS:

So I am going to revisit my life areas from above last message.

MY LIFE AREAS:
  • Making a living (includes personal development, work and finances)
  • Relationships (includes family/pets, friends and Loved One)
  • Physical Health (includes exercise, good hygiene and healthy eating)
  • Mental Health (includes relaxation, hobbies, daily habits, self care)
MAKING A LIVING:
  • Be productive at work. (I have ADHD)
RELATIONSHIPS:
  • Take my dogs out for walks more. (they really need it!)
PHYSICAL HEALTH
  • Eat healthy and balanced meals 80% of the time. The other 20%, live a little!
  • Try get in 25g of fibre or more per day.
  • Drink enough water (to handle all that fibre!)
MENTAL HEALTH
  • Sleep enough. (I have Bipolar II)
I landed my dream job last year in May. I now work for Microsoft as a Senior Consultant, and it has been super hard to settle in, but I'm getting there. I'm currently trying some ADHD meds to see if that works.

I'm also performing in a play for a community theatre group this weekend, I am so excited! I've learned all my lines, I'm playing Mary Magdalen in a play called The Vigil (it's about the Easter resurrection - was it a hoax or not? Courtroom style)

Some more info -

Main forms of exercise:
  • Pole dancing once a week (less dancing, more acrobatics)
  • Zen pilates once a week (like a yoga/pilates fusion)
What else I'll be documenting here might be my food diary. Maybe some before and after photos.

I have been to see a dietician, and she has recommended a daily calorie limit of 1800. So that is the guideline I am trying to follow.

Also, I see I promised puppy pics, so now I owe you before and afters from 7 years ago til today. Here they are! :)Roxy 2 yrs old.jpgRoxy 6 yrs old.jpgLili 5yrs old.jpgRoxy 5yrs old.jpgRoxy 1 yr old.jpgLili 6 yrs old.jpgLili and Roxy 4 yrs old 2.jpgLili 8 weeks old 2.jpgLili 8 weeks old.jpgLili and roxy 4years old.jpg

Aaaand I'm still up and it's 4am. Damn those Beverly Hills housewives. I need to be up by 8:30. Whyyyy!?!?

Life is SO much better with a dog! I just read back over your posts from 2016. It was fun to share in the excitement of your wedding 💘 It's good to have you back, Anke.

Weigh in was 113.3 kg (250 lbs). Would like to get down to 100kg (220 lbs) for a start and then see from there.

Breakfast was rye toast with butter and scrambled eggs with feta. And 100mls of greek yogurt. Need to get some fruit and veg in for the rest of the day!

Sounds like a solid start to the day. I'd probably add some (frozen) herbs or leftover grilled veggies but not everything has to happen first thing in the morning.

Yeah, i should have added some spinach, didnt think of that, thanks Llama!

Had a smoothie (yogurt, almond milk, protein powder, ground flaxseed, peanutbutter, banana and a bunch of spinach) for lunch. Weirdly filling, been loving these lately.

I'm off to pole dancing this evening. Not really looking forward to it cos my period is due in 3 days, and my skin is always super sensitive and sore then. Here comes the burn!

Update: Class was good. For dinner I had something called an oriental rice bowl:

So you saute half an onion in some olive oil for 5 mins. Then it's basically whatever roast veggies you have (in this case broccoli, cauliflower and carrots), added in and heated through for a couple of mins, then add a chopped garlic clove. Then stir in 1 beaten egg and cook for another couple of mins. Then add some rice and some chopped, cooked chicken breast, heat through, and finish off by adding a couple of teaspoons of curry powder in for flavour. Yum!!

I am now baking a banana bread before I head to bed (on time!) and will see if I still have some calories left to have a slice with butter once I input my meals into my calorie app, else tomorrow is another day!

Weigh in: 111.2kg (245lbs). That is 2.1 kg (4.6lbs) down.

So that is mostly water weight. I know because Friday and Saturday I drank alcohol, and ate many high sodium foods, and Sunday I ate an entire rack of ribs. Fri, Sat and Sun were all 3000+ calorie days.

So I'm happy I didn't really gain anything from that wild weekend. But quite keen to keep seeing the number go down. I get overly obsessed with it though. Don't really know how to make myself not put so much value on the numbers.

So today I slept really late, til about 12:30pm (it's a holiday here). And now I'm feeling weird about food. Trying to decide what sounds good. I may have a blueberry smoothie, or else I might have some more scrambled eggs with feta and spinach on toast. Or I could have yogurt and muesli with apple or blueberry. Or I could have a slice of banana bread with some peanutbutter. I honestly can't decide, so now I'm eating nothing. And it's 2pm already. I know that's bad, but some days I just don't feel like eating for a while after waking up. Any advice?

Update: I got aome inspiration by watching a cooking show on Netflix. I ended up sautéing some courgettes and spinach, and adding it into a 2 egg omelette, with feta cheese. Served on rye toast. Nom not nom.

Yep, that's me!! It doesn't always look too graceful getting into it, but once I'm up there it's magic! Thank you!
I'm thoroughly impressed!

I generally try to eat something anyway when I feel like that because it's often my brain trying to sneak in getting me so hungry I won't care if I binge. I see you found an excellent solution though!

Wowsers. That photo is impressive!
