Sport Anabolic diet/Atkins.

Update - I gave up.

I hate Atkins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe it was just too complicated. I was being as strict as pos, but it just didnt work.
I'm used to having dextrose before and during my workouts and I just couldnt get the energy I needed.

Its a shame cos I've lost 2weeks muscle gain. But then I have gained a lot of knowledge from doing it.

I would advise Atkins for anyone who need to loose lots of weight, but would never suggest it to anyone who does high intensity sports.

Now I'm gonna sit back and enjoy this oversized loaf of whole grain bread that I made this monring!!!

Yep, I felt the same way. I was screwing up on the job too, so I had to drop a total carb restriction because it was making me a retard with a headache. I was hating life.

Still, try a reduced carb intake over all, but make sure you get some carbs in before hitting the gym and after. My usual was:

Oats boiled in milk and fruit.
A protein shake pre.
Surge at 1/2 strength in 1L water.
PWO shake.

This makes a carb cycle/calorie cycle type diet.

Still have oats on your non-workout days, but restrict the carbs that follow breakfast to vegetable and fruit.

The concept behind low carb diets are very simple. Once all the carbs in the body have been depleted the body resorts to fat and protein as an energy source. The reason why people say the feel tired is because the body is getting use to breaking down fat an protien instead of carbs and sugars. As stated above too. Carbs are stored with water and during those first few weeks all the water stored with the carbs are ditched too. That is why people see a dramatic weight loss right off the bat. The reason why it has been so popular is because fat and protien is not as easly stored as carbs. Extra carbs consumed are stored as fat in the body but when fat and protien are digested they are used or not. Not much storage of them. Becareful, some side effects can be yellowish skin, bad breath, dizzyness do to the loss of water/blood volume, and constapation. My personal feeling is that it is a decent diet. Allows you to feel full and makes sure that you still get some carbs. Hopes this helps.
