Well... I wanted to join these forums and become a regular.. so.. here I am starting up my own diary :) And well.. I have some time to burn before I can go start exercising so... here goes! I'm a rambler so be prepared!

How much weight do you want to lose?

100lbs in the longrun. Right now though.. I'm shooting for at least 50.

What is the timeframe for reaching your target weight?

I'd liked to give myself a year to lose the 100lbs. It will probably take longer which is alright.

How do you want to accomplish your goal (what methods do you want to use)?

Eating better and less, Counting my calories, exercising at least 5 days a week.

Who or what can support you in reaching your goal?
My bf is a great support for me. When/if he starts exercising as well.. that really gets me motivated to keep at it and do better. Also I'm hoping that these forums will help me keep on track :)

How realistic is your goal?

I think it's very realistic. Well.. least I hope so.. heh

Welp.. I started today :D heh March 6th 2006.

Uhm, I'm not sure what I should type here.
Soo.. yeah.....

I'm 26, 5'2", female, and weigh 232lbs.
The lowest I've ever weighed not counting when I was a yougin... was 150lbs when I was 16-17.
I was surrounded by my thin friends so I still always felt huge even though I was only wearing a size 12 at the time. MAN I would love to wear that again! heh I hope I get smaller than that... but I would not argue if I were that small again! lol
I've just totally let myself go though. I've eaten too much of the wrong stuff for too long and well... I have all of my fatty goodness to show for it.

I want to lose 100lbs. I would be happy with 75 though. But My ultimate goal is 100.
I don't think I'd look normal if I got under 130. My body frame just isn't petite even though I'm short. So I'd probably end up looking like a bobblehead if I lost too much heh.
The most I've ever lost when I've tryed a diet or exercising has been 5lbs. When I see that I've lost 5lbs.. I always.. ALWAYS sabotage myself. I have no idea why I do it, but I do. I'll start thinking thoughts like... "Well.. I'm exercising, so that means I can eat a little bit more." Then I'll start eating more until finally I eat the way I did before and I stop exercising.
I'm determined not to do that this time though!! Or at least catch myself in time before I ruin the progress I make.

I plan on eating about 1500 calories a day.
I'll be starting off everyday with a SlimFast Optima. They're not that bad cept they smell like a vitamin bottle and they're kinda grainy. I have to drink it through a straw b/c I just can't stand the way it smells heh.
Since my days start late... the SlimFast is my lunch.
As for dinner and a midnight meal... I'll just wing it.
I'm not sure if I want to set up a complete meal plan though so right now I'm just going to go with the flow.

Exercising... well right now I'm going to start slow. Me and the bf went and bought a few more exercise items yesterday.
For me.. my ab roller that I've wanted for forever! I read that it doesn't let you cheat while doing crunches... and that's something I really need cause I'll cheat with my exercises every chance I get :p
Also got myself a nice THICK exercise mat. Those puny little thin ones just suck. We have hardwood floors that are about as soft as concrete so a little thin mat wasn't going to cut it.
Eventually.. not sure if I'm ready for it today... I also plan on starting back up my Power90 exercises.
This is the exercise dvd that I've done before and it's pretty good except that it takes alot of flexibility to do some of the moves.. and that's just something I do NOT have.
I am as stiff as a board. I've never been very flexible, but now that I have my fat in the way... I'm even more stiff. If I really push myself.. I MIGHT be able to reach an inch and a half below my knees.
Flexibility is something I really need to work on as well.
As I said though... the Power90 dvd's are nice but they get old very fast. I would love to get this other exercise dvd from beachbody called Turbo Jam.. it looks very fun and would allow me to switch it up so I don't get bored with doing the same thing over and over again.
It's expensive though so I'll have to make do with what I have for now :)

And yeah... I need to stop typing right now b/c I have some cleaning up I need to do before I exercise!

Well I just got done with my exercises.
BOY am I out of shape.. but not as bad as I thought.
I TRYED to do some crunches. GEE was that harder than I thought it would be.
I did about 100 of them though.. regular ones.. putting your legs to the side ones.. and sticking your legs in the air... then some more regular ones heh.
It was rough!

Then I got on my treadmill and did 30mins at an average of 2.3 speed. I don't take long strides so slower speeds seem fast to me. Something else I need to work on.
I didn't get as tired as I thought I would though. That really surprised me. I thought since I hadn't worked out in a while I would be completely out of shape, but it was alright.
Hope my feet aren't sore tomorrow though so I can get on the treadmill again.

I think I'm going to try Power90 tomorrow. Might not do great with it but I need to try it out to see if I can do it right now or not.

UGH I did not have a good night's rest last night.
I don't know what was wrong but I kept tossing and turning.
I have no idea what was going on though b/c I usually have a good night's rest unless I'm on my period, but that just passed so... I dunno...guess it's just one of those nights.

Anywho... yesterday was a shakey start on eating better. I overate a bit with dinner, but I did keep myself from snacking like crazy at night though.. even though I SO wanted to.
Hmm.. maybe that's what kept me up.. b/c when I went to bed I was getting that hungry feeling.
Meh.. I'll deal with a few restless nights if I can kick the habit of snacking late night. :)

I'm not sure if I'll be exercising today.... I feel like crap right now.. but hopefully I'll wake up a bit. Might just do a slow pace on the treadmill.

Questions!!

How long should you wait to start exercising after you've eaten?
And also... which order should I work out? Before I was doing weight training then cardio.. but then I heard you should be doing cardio THEN weight training.
Does it matter which order? Will the exercises be more effective if done in a certain order?
And yeah.... that's all for now! heh
 
Souds like your diong just dandy!!!!!! Keep it up. I wish I had those answers for ya!!! I would like to know myself. Well, good luck to you and keep us posted
 
Hey! Thanks for the encouragement :)

Well.. today just didn't go too well. I've felt dizzy all day long and I don't know why.
Well.. earlier it was really bad. I couldn't move my head without getting dizzy.
I took a nice long shower and it pretty much went away but I'm still feeling.. "weird".

Didn't exercise today unfortunatly, BUT I plan on starting back up tomorrow no matter what.

My eating today wasn't that great... had some yummy chinese but still overate a bit.
Also snacked on a can of tuna.
I was going to go for some beefaroni... but figured tuna would be healthier so I ate it instead.
Still not happy that I did eat it.. but.. am glad that I picked a better choice.

I really hope tomorrow is a better day :)
 
sounds like your off to a pretty awesome start!! To answer at least one of your questions, you should do cardio before weights, otherwise it burns off muscle instead of fat.
not sure about how long to wait after eating tho...
anyways, looking forward to getting to know ya better :)

ANywho... I still didn't get a good night's rest last night.
It wasn't as bad as yesterday, but this is starting to bug me some.
I hope it passes soon b/c I loves my sleep! heh

I totally forgot to come back and post again today.. AND forgot to read on other ppl's diaries.
Bleh.. been so skatterbrained today.

Well to keep this quick cause I'm tired...


Exercised today.. even though I was dreading it heh.
Did about 40minutes walking on treadmill.
Then did about 100 crunches. I wanted to do more crunches but was starting to get a headache.

Uhm.. eating.. well.. I once again overate during dinner.. but it was only one seaweed and rice so I didn't think too much of it heh.
I did snack on a few seaweed sheets later on though.

And uhm.. yeah.. all in all.. not a bad day :) Got some exercise in and didn't eat anything terribly bad heh.

You did good yeaterday. Happy for ya. Have a good day and whenever you catch yourself over eating, just slap your hand and trow the food away. Or poor tons of salt and mustard and water, ect..........all over it so you can't eat it:D

Ehehe.... well today wasn't all that great exercise wise... was feeling a bit stiff so decided not to exercise any.
Kinda regret that though.
But meh....

Everything is going good so far. I still need to work on my eating... it will help once we go to the grocery store and I can get some healthy snacks to munch on.
I still feel that I'm doing pretty good though. :)
 
I have a whole cupboard full of healthy snacks- I just got some asteroids 100 cal packs, yummy :) I go grocery shopping like twice a week, lol, and always stock up on healthy crap.
seaweed sheets?? what do those taste like?? i see them all the time, but they scare me, so I never touch em:)
 
Heh it's kinda hard to explain what they taste like.
I've been eating it all my life pretty much so they don't really taste like anything to me. heh

I'm definetly gonna be buying some of those 100cal snack pack things I've been seeing. Seems like a great great way to keep portions to what they should be instead of having too much :)

So the weekend has gone and passed.... I usually don't post anything on weekends b/c I'm usually not home so.. yeah.. just explaining my absense heh.


Anywho... my weighin was today (only weighing in once a week).... and I'm down to 229 :eek:

That actually totally surprised me. I think some of the weightloss is waterweight though b/c it's been SOOOO hot here and I'm such a hot natured person so I sweat when it gets even a little bit warm.
But hey... it's something at least lol.
If it keeps up being this hot.. I'm either gonna have to exercise at night when it's cool.. or turn on my ac which I don't wanna do yet. Cause when it's hot like this during the day... I sure as hell don't wanna do anything except for get cool and keep from sweating and getting sticky and and yeah.... can ya tell I don't like hot weather? heh :p

I hope at least a pound of that weight loss is actual fat lost.
Still amazes me considering I haven't really been exercising.. I've just been cutting down on my eating. :D

And starting today I'm writing down all my calorie intake so hopefully my weightloss next Monday will be even better and I won't have to wonder if it's actual weight or just water being lost heh.


So.. to start things off.....

2cups of Diet V8 Splash Fruit Medley= 20calories


That juice is yummy btw... tastes like Hawaiian Punch but alot less sweet. I know some like it really sweet but I like stuff to be just sweet enough so this drink is perfect :) Yeah heh.. just comment on it b/c it's actually my first time tasting it. Just thought it looked so good at the grocery store I had to get me some heh.

229, that's great. Keep it up !!!!!! You'll reach that goal in no time. The diet v8 is wonderful. I love the juice so do my kids. I think it's better to give them that then koolad-id, and etc............. Well, have a great day
