It is comical to be admonished to "lighten up" by one who felt compelled to correct any misunderstandings about his preferred breakfast cereal.

If you don't lighten up, you'll be asked to pack your **** and move along.

Seriously, who pissed in your Grape Nuts, Tanizaki? You've been strutting around these forums from your first post with the biggest chip on your shoulder.

What exactly do you feel you have to prove...that you kick up dirt in everyone's faces at every conceivable opportunity?
I've been reading all your posts today, and frankly I don't see any sage wisdom pouring out of your IP address...just a lot of bitching for the sake of bitching.

Consider this your final warning. Learn to play nice and CONTRIBUTE, or play elsewhere.

Capice?

PS - normally I don't berate members publicly, but due to the complaints we've had about you lately, I don't think anyone's going to be surprised. In fact, I want them to know the mod team is aware of the 'issue' and is actively discussing it.
It also helps other new members understand what is NOT tolerated here.

I don't think it is a "chip on the shoulder" to debunk common science myths e.g. "MSG is harmful to the health". Aren't you the guy with the 700-page chemistry textbook?

Check the science ones, then. Oh, and I gave some good advice about making beef jerky. Check out those posts, too.

Thank goodness...

as for the original question: Cold cereals are not typically the healthiest option, but they do tend to be pretty convenient. I prefer the Kashi cereals, in particular the Honey Almond Flax, and the high protein/high fiber cereals. The high protein/high fiber does taste similar to crunchy paper, but it's probably one of the healthier choices.

Keep in mind, milk also adds quite a bit of sugar in addition to whatever is in the cereal.

Yeah, claiming a carcinogen like sodium nitrate is harmless. Awesome advice...

Sodium nitrite is not known to be a carcinogen. The NIH has reported that high consumption of processed meat may increase risk of colorectal cancer. However, this report was based on a meta-analysis, and sodium nitrite was not singled out as being a carcinogen. No empirical evidence currently exists that singles out any nitrite as a carcinogen.
