Abuse of Powers

Yes, it will.

And I feel 100% the same as you do. Just because a user has over 2000 post shouldn't mean that they should have mod-like rights IMO but it will be up to the boss to decide that.

I've said from the beginning that I didn't think 2000+ posters should be allowed to give others infractions, but now this is just ridiculous. Chillen's wife, under his name, has decided to start giving me infractions. Neg rep, whatever, that's somethign every user can be.

Can this be addressed?

I would hope so.

She ' dinged ' me too - i.e ' Neg rep ' - just for agreeing with your post ! :)

See, wrangle, I have no problem with the neg rep. Any user can do that, and its a fun little system. Its the powers that can potentially restrict our access that I don't think users should have access to.

Gotcha.

I'm more acquainted with other forums, so I'm not exactly sure how this one works yet.

However, I've got over 5,000 posts on one other forum - 8,000 on another - and in both cases, a high number of posts doesn't afford you any more or less functionality than someone with 2 or 10 posts. Post counts are irrelevant.

Mods are mods - and are clearly identified as such. And only mods can issue temporary or perm bans, move, delete or lock threads etc....not forum members.

In any event, I've never heard of ' blocking access ' to threads - as most threads are under control of the mods and rules of the forum - and not ' presumed ' to be under the control and rules of those members ( or their wives ) who start a thread - i.e the ' Chillen log ' being a prime example.

It's their thread, their journal and log.If they dont want you in it, take the hint and stay out.

And der,
I don't see why your exactly complaining about the neg rep, you were stating lies about chillen when he was sick and away, and filling his thread with negative ****. You deserved it.

If you want to make a thread for your fanclub, then start your own forum. On public forums anyone can reply, that's kinda the whole idea.

Neg rep doesn't bother me, any user can do it and can feel free to neg rep me to the moon.

Can this be addressed?

Can I get a link to the post that was given an infraction for. I'm totally against non-mods having the power to give infractions. There's a reason we have mods.

I am NOT complaining about neg rep. Everyone in the world can neg rep me.

I'm complaining about the inappropriate use of INFRACTIONS

Regarding ' infractions '.....

......is there a list of " Forum Rules " on a thread somewhere that outlines rules on such things like ...

- SPAM.
- PG only vs questionable adult content
- acceptable only vs questionable avatars
- sexual discussions
- discrimination i.e sexual preferences, race, or religion etc.
- personal attacks
- criteria for bans
- discussion of illegal activities ( i.e obtaining steroids )
- etc.

Anyone ?

LOL

That was ****in dumb

I hope you're thuroghly ashamed of yourself, Chillen. Posing as your wife. Ridiculous. And if you really DID care about your "husband", you'd know that the Chillout Log was very important to him. To delete it when he's all medicated up and sick, probably delerious...shows you really know him, doesn't it?

Chillen, that was a really pathetic ploy for attention. Very sad for a grown man to have to do all that. You have a family, they should love you enough for you to run out on the internet and perform the equivalent of cross dressing to get someone to pay attention to you.

Yeah I would tend to agree that even if someone has over 2000 posts they shouldnt have these powers. I think the user titles and visibility thing is cool but it could potentially get out of hand.

Honestly I dont really like the rep system although I rep people etc I quite liked it when we werent divided by reps etc.

I hope all this gets resolved and we can get back to the way we used to be all lollypops and sugar puffs.

Hahaha

When I was a boy, I had to walk ten miles in the snow just to get ice from the store! Now these young kids got their iPads in their heads with the rap music goin BOOM BA BOOM BOOM BOOM I'll tell ya, they wouldn't last a day in the old times

Speaking of " infractions ".

Is there somewhere on this forum where the rest of us forum members can read up on these " infractions " rules. For example,......

- who issues them ?
- what criteria trigger them ?
- the implications of accumulating them ?
- their life span ?
- etc. etc.

...it appears Chillen ( or his wife Kathy ) dinged me with some ' negative reps ' stemming from exchanges in the Chillen Log and the next thing I know I have an " infraction ".

Yeah well in my day girls didnt like cars that went pshhhhhhh and had neon lights on them. They liked wagons with surfboards and beer!

If only there were girls like that still around.

I was gonna go look at it in Derwydons profile but I get an error for hers only. Can anyone get to it?
