Good morning ladies!
Here I am at home...It's 9:30am and I decided to give my body a break today. The last thing I want to do is get burnt out, so Thursday has been designated my stay at home or run errands day. The French Open tennis tournament is on, so it's a good day to stay home.
So last night was hard for me. I've been taking care of my nieces in the evenings and the little buggers are so dang cute! Last night we played the fairy kingdom...LOL!! Problem is, they wanted to play fairy birthday party and they wanted ice cream and nutella smothered on Ritz crackers.....Oy vey! Of course, I had to serve it all for them and boy was it hard. I just wanted to have a spoonful of that Nutella. Here I was, at war with myself again! I used to get some Italian bread, smother it with Nutella and slices of strawberry, then put it together and grill it on my panini press....OMG, so delicious and I was having fantasies of my Nutella panini. I had to slap myself and say WTF??? Cut it out! Well, I am happy to report that I didn't give in. I RESISTED NUTELLA AND ICE CREAM!!! But I was so hungry for the rest of the night. I downed as much water as my body could possibly hold. I'm pretty proud of myself because honestly, even just last week, I probably would have given in. Score one for the underdog!!!
Ok, so I have to report on this book I am reading, "Tales from the Scale by Erin J. Shea...Ladies, go out and get this book!! I can relate to so many of the stories in it! And I couldn't help but laugh out loud at some of them! I haven't finished it yet, but I am really enjoying it so far. It's a series of short stories from different women and their constant struggle with weight.
I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to all of you who have stopped by to read my journal. I'm glad I am not just doing this in vein, you know?
Favouritecrayon, OneHotMama, Spelin01, Ana, all of you!!
Spelin01-When in the spring are you going to Italy? We'll be there March 8th and our cruise sales March 14th. You know, the thing about being the heavy American in Europe is so true. Luckily, I lost 40 lbs before we went and I was fine but I did see one lady in particular who was very heavy and these European teenagers were making fun of her. I felt sooooo bad for her. There aren't very many heavy Europeans, so to them it's like seeing a circus act. Terrible.....
CiaoAna-Thanks for the tip on the tickertape!! I was able to use it on the cruisecritic website too! So you were raised in Europe?? Cool! Where? Are you a military brat?
Well, this is what I have had so far this morning:
Breakfast
1 cup Special K Fruit and Yogurt
1 cup Nonfat milk
Snack
Protein bar
I'll have to get back on here this evening and post what I had for the rest of the day.
Take care everyone!
