6 pounds in 6 days

Good points.

I felt that 1200 was a decent number strictly for macronutrients. 120 grams of carbs, 40 grams of fat and 90 grams of protein is a fairly sound number. Not that 1200 was too low for an arbitrary reason... sorry, should have been more specific.

I am totally agreeing with you too about the CALORIES being too low. Recently I went to 2300 calories just to see what it was like (and a semi-refeed), and now that I am back to 1900 to cut out some extra body fat... MAN, do I miss those calories. I am slowly adjusting but I remember being at 2300 and feeling fine. I am DEF more hungry at 1900.

I'd be more concerned about micronutrients, myself. You don't really need carbs the way you need fat and protein. Without a multivitamin / mineral supplement, I'd have only been getting about half of my RDA of pretty much everything at 1,200 (averaged over a month), whereas now I get 100% of the RDA of virtually everything virtually every day.

Micros are never an issue for me. Multivitamins are my friend :) Don't you take a multi?

I snitch my kid's gummi vitamins. ;) When I was pregnant, I was really good at taking my vitamins, but other than that, I tend to let them slide. I figure that if I can get to or above the RDA from real food (I don't eat much that's vitamin-fortified, because I don't eat a lot of grain products), I'm probably getting the rest of the "good stuff" that's in real food that doesn't have an RDA.

You can go into those complexities. People here are VERY intelligent and can handle this type of information. It's actually GOOD to throw those things out there because it forces people to research it. Just because people aren't posting doesn't mean they aren't reading... look how many damn hits this thread got! (Possible due to the fact that people love a good fight too lol).
haha...yeah...i've never posted before but this thread in particular got my attention.

GREAT point man. Yeah, I helped one of my friends who recently had a baby lose about 15 lbs... she was still a size 2! She wanted to get back into her 0 clothes... I mean, she asked how I did it and we actually still created a plan for her. I mean, her nutrition sucked and we got it in check... she didn't even start exercising. She is naturally an ectomorph, and the baby fat was just STICKING hard to her. But again, the energy balance equation really worked for her.
while being a size 0, was she underweight?

Water fluctuation is the main misleading factor here, you can weigh anywhere from 1-10lb heavier depending on your hydration and sodium and salt levels. weigh yourself weekly after going to the toilet and make sure you drink enough water to flush everything out
