5000 Calories FTW!!!

Alright, I was OK to maintain for a while, but my cheetah-like metabolism had me still losing weight very slowly at 4000 calories per day. I decided if I'm going to have to force feed myself, I might as well go all out and do a bulk at 5000 per day....cautiously, I'm going to stop before I gain too much fat.

Most is simply coming from food although I decided to give Cytogainer a try. I have one a day which helps me out with 580 calories
 
Sweet! Nice to see you with an active journal once again. How have things been otherwise in life?
 
Everything is awesome. We moved in on Friday. I love the new house!! Love the yard, love the neighborhood too. I got my new equipment in my basement... Life is good.

Will be hard work eating 5k, but hope u bulk that sh1t up man.

Whilst were on about calories, it pisses me off that most uneducated people think all (men in this case) will maintain at 2.5k calories, just because it says it on the nutrition lables of food products. If i were to tell them some people maintain on 4k+ they'd be like WTF are you talking about.

I know what you mean. People don't understand the concept that activity level, body weight, and other factors (freaky fast metabolism in the case of GOOCH) go into it...
 
If I ate 2500 calories I'd probably weigh 110 lbs LOL

So far I've been surprised how easy it's been. Walnuts and rice are my best friends
 
I've heard stories the the evil calorie monster Gooch before but this has me convinced now.

What are your workouts like to be maintaining at 4k??

I was starting to drop weight at 4000. I was at 183 for a few weeks, then all of the sudden I dropped down to 180...and that was my magic number where if I got that low I was going to bulk.

I am into running and I do it every day so that is a big part of the equation, but I decided to stick with 5k distance instead of going longer. I lift 3 days per week.

I know the 7 day per week running isn't optimal for muscle growth, but it's what I like doing so I'm gonna! Plus I like a challenge

Ah now I see...still nice to be able to eat that much...I wouldn't say your maintenance line is above normal (for someone who runs as much), but meh - still considered high by many, including myself.

Lookin' ripped and lean there man!

A 180# man who can run this much has my respect.

Good morning, Gooch. You will do well on your bulk. I know you have good fats in your diet such as Natural Peanut Butter (PB), and lets see what this does to you:

Turns Gooch from a mere human into:

PB= Power Boy

And, turns up Gooch's Testosterone and creates:

PB=Pure Beastliness

And, after sex your wife screams:

PB=Performance Bastard!

You have come a long way since you joined the forum, and have had much success. Be proud of what you accomplished.

You chew 4000 calories and you grew.

Chew 5000 calories, and you stew the new you, and an even greater person will debut.

There is no greater power than knowing yourself within your fitness goals, Gooch. Though I envy your "I digest food when I look at it" metabolism, or "I am already running to the bathroom when I smell food" metabolism, you are working with what you know about yourself and making some impressive personal accomplishments.

There is much more to suture in your future.

Therefore, keep putting on the Rock-On boot and stay in pursuit.

You're right, I include healthy fats in my diet, but I have been eating more almond butter and walnuts lately just for a change from PB. If they ever stop selling almond butter at Costco I'll have to go back because it costs a fortune anywhere else.

I'm up a pound, even after the "toilet thunder":jump1:
