Model newbie needs help...

Hi All

I'm new to this site and wanted to get some general advice on getting back in shape. :newbie:
I'm a part time model and really wanted to tone up and hopefully get rid of the bulge which is just below my belly button and tone the top of my legs. My belly doesnt look that bad on photos as i tend to hold it in and can hide it well. I would just rather be able to relax a little and maybe progress to making shape of my abs.

I have a full time job as a fleet administrator and because this is a 'desk job' i feel that it is hindering me. To help me ive also got a more physical part time job working at a little Tesco store where if im not on the till im filling shelves (lifting boxes etc) as i feel that this will help me.

Can anyone suggest any excercises that i can do at my desk and also at home. I have a rowing machine and also have some resistance bands at home and also one of those wheel things where you roll forward holding the two handles either side.

Please help... x

Model? Pics needed I think ;)

If the wheel thing you're talking about is an 'ab roller' then I really don't like those. I say that because I think it can injury if used by people with weak core muscles, I know of one person who had to take a whole week off work after using one of those and losing control of it.

The resistance bands are great, you should be able to google trainig programs using them but I find them best for things like adding resistance to press ups. There aren't many things you can't do with bands

This is me and as you may agree more definition of the abs is needed.

Agreed, I have thought twice about using the ab roller for this reason!

Thanks for your comment :)

Nice necklace ;)

I can offer very good rates on personal training sessions :newangel:

In all seriousness though, I'm not an expert on fat loss, I'm more of a muscle gain guy, but I think your time would best be spent looking at your diet first and then training if a six pack is your goal

Thanks for your reply!:p

My diet consists of a bowl of porridge with a glass of orange/pineapple juice in the morning, chicken or white fish in the evenings with some potatoes and lots of vegetables(i love veg) and as anyone else would be..im known to eat the odd chocolate bar!
For snacks throughout the day i either eat raisins or brazil/cashew nuts.
Also i only have 1-2 cups of tea a day if that.

Ive been told by my doctor recently that ive got to eat a few more foods that contain iron as im slightly anaemic too.

Overall i dont think my diet is really that bad...just need to concentrate on my exercise and have patience!

Look forward to any advice that people have...

What about lunch?

Why not try eating 5-6 small meals a day rather than 2 regular meals and lots of snacks? An eating patern of smaller frequent meals will make you less likely to get hungry which often leads to over eating

It might be a good idea to track your food intake on

For lunch i tend to stick to salads etc. Today i had boiled rice and peas mixed together warmed up. Lovely!

I dont like wheat based products so bread, pastry, pasta etc are a no no.
I do give noodles a try every now and then but they are sooo boring i tend to leave half of it.

Oh the ab wheel of death. That thing is brutal. Im off to work but Ill be back on later tonight with a better response.

Yeah the ab wheel of death..!
my boyfriend uses it and hes fine but as i dont feel strong enough i feel that i should avoid it. also after the comments above its certainly making me think twice aswell.

Look forward to your response later on.

Hopefully long grain brown rice and whole wheat noodles.
White rice and 'regular' pasta don't do any of us any favors. ;)
