Hi All
I'm 25 from Australia 5'3 (fairly short) endomorph.

Without giving you my life story, I lost 32 kg 3 years ago and I went from 85 to 53kg

I was doing - Normal diet, around 1300-1400 cals eating 6 x per day more cals when heavily training, calorie/macro counting, eating healthy mainly raw foods still eating a bit of dairy meat and grains.

I put all the weight back on and got back to 90 kg (omggg...) i'm now back down to 83 as of this morning so have started again and going well.

I haven't felt this motivated since when I first lost the weight (i've been big my whole life).

My question IS! ...
Back when I lost the weight last time I ate around 1350 cals on average a day until i got really small i cut it to 1200 (i started on 1500 when i was really big) that worked well for me.

HOWEVER the last month my appetite really just isn't there, I am only eating when i feel physically hungry I dont eat breakfast anymore and fast sometimes until 12 pm. Or just have a coffee with a dash of milk, sometimes black coffee when i'm fasting.

I have no cravings anymore and no desire to eat bad food or even eat much at all.
My day is generally something like no breaky, coffee with a dash of milk, soup/casserole/veggie based dishes for lunch, a home made protein ball/thing or corn thins with peanut butter or oats with salt as a snack and a smoothie for dinner. (it changes a lot but that's an example)

I am only eating between 850-1100 calories per day, which i don't know why (i know it's like nothing) but i feel good (considering i'm a terrible sleeper and only sleep around 4-6 hours a night) and i don't feel the need to eat more. IS this bad for my body will my body store fat, does anyone have thoughts on intermittent fasting, i personally like doing it but some have told me it's not healthy and will have repercussions.

Would basically love to know if what I am doing is ok, i'm losing on average between 800grams - 1.2 kg per week. I don't want to lose anymore than 1.2 as I want to do this relatively slowly but I used to lose .5 kg p/w and it took me 15 months to drop the 32 kg.

I just kinda wanna really speed things up.
I think because I have worked my ass off before I don't have the patience to wait all over again (I know it will be months of hard work but i want it faster!!! ) but i guess that is why i dont want cheat meals and i dont want to eat all the time i'm just that determined to be back with my healthy fit body!!

Thoughts plleeease anyone!? what worked for you?

I don't eat red meat anymore, but I do eat chicken, fish. Trying to eat more vegan like. I pretty much love all foods.
I do weights twice a week(about 30 mins a sesh), interval cardio (about 30 mins) twice a week and yoga once a week.

Hi! I can relate to this, unfortunately.
If you have cravings or don't feel satisfied after meals, try to drink a big cup of hot tea or any drink you like but hot and a good amount of it. Usually it helps. Also, a small (dark) chocolate square helps sometimes and its not as bad as eating some other food we can crave.
Maybe you might have hit a plateau also. Keep it up, don't loose motivation and you will soon see the weight melt.

Good luck!!

Hello, Well done on making the decision to lose your weight. I dont eat red meat either so can relate to you and I have now dropped 4 dress sizes and reshaped my body. Our bodies all need a certain amount of calories to support all our body functions ie breath /pump blood etc.( This is called your resting mebolic rate). By reducing your calorie intake by 100 - 150 calories a day you will have a steady weight loss and keep it off. It is important to get the right balance of nutrients for your body ie 30% Fat, 30% Protein,40% Good Carbohydrate . Breakfast is the most important meal of the day to kick start yourmetabolism within 30 minutes of wakening, and your day should consist of 2 healthy snacks as well as 3 healthy portion controlled meals. Drinking 2 - 3 Litres of water is the other important factor... Hope that helps Reach out to me if I can be of more support :) Cheers Aileen

After doing some extensive research, I can honestly say there is absolutely nothing wrong with intermittent fasting for weight loss. In fact, I would recommend it to everyone who wants to lose weight.

I'm a 61-year-old female who's lost 25kg in the last 6 months using the intermittent fasting technique, and I've never felt better in my life. I became VEGAN for ethical, moral and health reasons, and I do a 24 hour fast most days. One of the benefits of intermittent fasting is a process called "autophagy" which is basically a natural detoxification and repair process of the body. It also rebalances the hormones.

Going on a more plant-based diet was an excellent choice on your part. Animals products cause inflammation of the arteries and the joints. I would suggest that you eliminate all animal product as they are a "PACKAGE" deal. The only vitamin that VEGANS lack in their diet is VITAMIN B12, and that can be supplemented.

The other thing that I would suggest is that you eliminate coffee (Caffeine) from your diet for two reasons ~ 1) Coffee is addictive 2) Coffee stimulates Cortisol. Cortisol is the fight or flight hormone that is produced by the adrenal glands, and it is one of the "FAT STORING" hormones, so keeping that under control is of paramount importance.

Remember that weight loss and HEALTH has to be dealt with in a holistic manner. Our bodies are intricate pieces of machinery and "one size DOESN'T fit all". It's not JUST (as I've been told) calories in vs calories out.

I hope this information has been helpful and good luck.

I have read about intermittent fasting and thought about it but wasn't sure if I could really do it. I may give it another thought. I would like to hear more about your experience.

I started my weight loss journey (this is the fourth time in my life) in August 2017 and I've spent many hours researching how to lose weight ever since then. To date, I've lost 27kgs (59.4lbs), and I did an online course on nutrition just to empower myself.

Intermittent fasting can be done in several ways, but I choose to do a 24 hour fast, five days a week. I'm a little relaxed on the weekends, and I break my fast after 18 hours, that's when I include fruit and tubers in my diet and I eat twice a day.

As I stated previously, we have to understand our own physiology and treat being overweight and obesity in a holistic manner. Empowerment is the key to success.

If I can be of any further assistance to you, please don 't hesitate to contact me.
Wishing you the very best of luck!!!
