*AIM's Progress Pics*

with all respect,
its not clear whether you suggest him to perform 2-3 hour long biking sessions, or if you suggest him to do 2 or 3 rides consisting of 1 hr each.
its also not clear on the number of days you said to bike.

Hmm, I guess I wasn't very clear then?
What I suggested could perhaps be summarised by saying, ride as often as possible, for as long as possible.

but a one hour intense(im assuming HIIT) bike ride is just overkill.

Perhaps, though it depends on what you mean by 'intense'.
I meant that he should put some good effort into it, and not ride slowly.

Starcraftmazter I understood what you mean. Basically bike a lot at more than a leisure pace :) Anyway, I'm looking forward to posting my progress pics in about a month. Lately, I've cleaned up my diet. For breakfast, I had oatmeal with strawberries, and so far for lunch I had a sandwich with chicken, lettuce, and tomato and a sweet potato(the orange potato). Thanx for all the support, the ppl here are awesome :)

Well, for my breakfast, I do not believe I got any protein? It was just oatmeal and strawberries. I read somewhere just now that I can sprinkle some of my chocolate whey powder onto my oatmeal. I guess I will do that. And yes, my other meal had protein, the chicken :) evolution, I have read those and I thank mreik for clearing all that up :) I also have one question. I am going to work in about 2 hours, and I plan on eating every three hours. I will eat my 3rd meal at 4:30, then I have to leave for work at 5. Can a protein shake replace my 4th meal?(since I am going to be at work)

a protein shake with milk is a good meal replacement especially if you put a fruit in it.
is the protein shake going to be after your workout?

Well, I guess you can say after my workout. Basically I want to use the one protein shake as my 4th meal because I am going to be at work. I have 2% milk, will that be OK to be mixed with my chocolate whey? Because that is what I drink it with rarely.

a whey shake with milk after a workout is good. next time use skim milk though. less saturated fat and you dont want fat after a workout anyway.
good job on getting more small meals in the day. your doing great.

Yup

Can't forget the water :) I actually like oatmeal now, because, like everyone says, it keeps you full for a long time, preventing more eating soon after. And, I love it because I mix it with fruits, first strawberries then blueberries. Unlike before, I used to eat it plain:)eek:) Now oatmeal is Mmm good stuff :)

Hey man, looks like you're really getting into this and doing well

How many meals are you having each day? It sounds like your diet is a bit light from what you've posted. Remember to try and fit in lots of smaller meals each day rather than the traditional 3 larger meals

p.s. The sweating hopefully won't be such a problem once you've lost a bit of weight, you do sweat more when you're heavier

Hey CCR. I aim for at least 5 meals a day, all about 3 hours apart. Heres how yesterday was:

Meal 1 - 10:30 AM(I am a late wake when I have nothing to get up for)
3/4 cup Quaker Old Fashioned Oats(cooked with 1 1/2 cup water)
6 medium size strawberries cut onto the oatmeal

Meal 2 - 1:30
Sandwich consisting of:
2 slices 100% Whole Wheat Bread, Lettuce, Tomato, and Chicken

Meal 3 - 4:30
2 Broasted Chicken Breasts with about 10 potato wedges(this I believe was my only not too healthy meal :( )

Meal 4 - 7:30 (After weight lifting)
1 scoop Whey protein powder shake mixed with 1 cup skimmed milk(PB's recommendation :) )

Meal 5 - 9:00 (Like a little snack)
1/4 cup raisins

Meal 6 - 10:15
1 1/2 cup blueberries
1/4 cup Craisins(like raisins but dried up cranberries)

Also, between meals, I would drink water. Any other suggestions about my eating feel free to comment :)

You're really doing great, taking advice and applying it across the board. You'll undoubtedly start getting some really good results. Way to go....really good work.

Thanx a lot DEF :) I am really trying, hopefully I will reach my goal soon. Pretty soon, I am going to have one of the full body shots of myself for my profile pic :)

Fixed in-text in the astericks.

as evo said, you should get simple carbs in right after a workout(PWO). any fruit will be fine.

and evo gave you really good info. you need protein at every meal! :)

Wow

Eating what Evo recommended almost makes it seem like I'm cheating because of so many additions :) I understand what Evo did, it seems good, and I will definitely fit protein into each meal. Thanx for the tips!

I find when people "diet" (hypo-caloric intake), they attempt to sub-consciously starve themself=being hungry and miserable all the time=relapsing into old eating habits quickly.

Here's something I'd like to experiment with-Velocity Diet every 3rd day. Bascially every 3rd day you'd have nothing but 6-7 protein shakes through out the course of the day.

but one must compensate with other suppliments like a prescribed multivatamin, oils and a whey casein mixture, correct?

For something like an every 3rd day protein only intake? Well, I always think individuals should take their multivitamin, multimineral, and fish oil. The casein would definately help to keep you satisfied for longer between feedings. But you could easily mix a whey and a fiber supplement.

You could even actually eat a massive amount of green vegetables like celery, broccoli, green leaf lettuce, and bell pepper because the impact on insulin would be nil. Of course then you're getting into a something other than a protein shake only day.
