Sparrows Experiment

I swim in a pool, but the triathlons are either in lakes or the ocean. Thanks for the congrats :)

Off day, busy day at church and stuff. Random eating day, its ok. Tomorrow is the start of a heavy week with some good SLEEPING. I've made a public goal to go to bed at a GOOD time each night and get a good 8+ hours of sleep. If I can do that, I can do anything. ha
I'm making something thats hopefully yummy tonight. I'll let you know how it turns out.
I'm wearing SHORTS today. what the heck is up with our weather lately. for the past 4 days its been pouring, and now this. I'm happy with the way my legs look in my shorts this year :) Its the little things-ya know!

Gratz on the job and the shorts, woman! ^_^b
I still can't bring myself to wear shorts. So I know the feeling of finally confident enough to be in one :D

Just in case no one has told you, YOU ARE A FREAKIN MACHINE!!! Keep up the good work, you're awesome. Greg

Yes she is a "freakin machine", What makes it more "head-shaking" is that she does it on very little sleep. Amazing. Personally I would probably be a train wreck with little sleep. But as she mentions above she is GONNA change her sleeping habits, which will make her even more of a machine. Scary. ;)

Today has been a great day.
During workout: 16oz gatorade, 16oz water
After workout: Pure Protein bar, water
snack during class: 20 almonds, cranberries
lunch/snack: smoked salmon stuffed chicken breast...small handful of cheetos :( :(
dinner: something good. lol

Gym: weights: bi/tri/back
3x15 alternating bi curls @15lb
3x15 overhead DB tri extention @25lb
bench dips w/ feet on bench 2x12
isolated bi (elbow against leg) 2x12 @15lb
2x15 bent DB rev flye @8lb (for back)
3x15 seated row @70
3x15 lat pull down @70
abs
2x15 bulgarian split squats
2x15 SLDL @75lb
1 hour spin class
30 min run on tread (3.5 miles)
I felt tired and weak today but I started that way and it never got worse, just was the same feeling throughout all my workout. I realized how little I've been hitting the weights since I actually did them the way I'm supposed to today and my old weight was a challenge
I'm officially hired now and the cool part is that its part of a gym so I will be canceling my other gym membership since I'll get a free one with my job. The bad news is that I'm not going to be able to do the tri class anymore because of that :(
I went to bed at 11pm last night. Better than midnight or 1am I guess but I'm trying to get closer to 10.

'Grats on the new job! :D I'm glad that worked out for you. You'll find something to replace the Tri class with at the new gym.

...I've noticed you don't seem to be getting much in the way of carbs in your PW meals. Looks like it's working for you..but conventional wisdom would suggest getting some starchy carbs into one of those meals. You could've eaten veggies and some brown rice with lunch, for example. Just a thought. :)

yeah you're right. Today is a different kind of day just cause I'm running every which way on Mondays so it was a grab and go thing for most of my meals. on the whole I feel like I've been "cheating" too much and adding more carbs has been a turn off. I have let little liberties slip in too much lately, especially at night. nighttime munchies are a big weakness. i need to get back on track. I think nights are single handedly stalling my physique progress.

B-1c applesauce, 1 serving whey
during workout- 2c gatorade w/ 1 scoop whey
Lunch- 1 chicken breast, 2 pieces whole wheat bread, low fat mayo
Dinner-?

Gym: 20 min warm up run
30 min cardio circuit and plyometrics
15 min bosu abs and core
30 min swim

Today wasn't very hard. I socialized more than I felt I was working out :) maybe it didn't seem hard because of all the company. lol. who knows but i didn't feel that tired afterwards. We had a couples group over at our house last night that lasted late so I got to bed at near midnight by the time I keyed down :( oh well. I was ok this morning. not tired. Been super thirsty today. I had a serving of an amazing cobler I made last night. whoops. It was anything but healthy :D

Your new avatar gives me the creepies. Please, put it away before somebody gets hurt. :p

..when I move my head back and forth, the eye follows me. Shudder.

LOL don't worry, its temporary. Just a reminder that i'm WATCHING all of youuu

well, today I'm very sluggish but that only happened after I worked out. I'm super snappy at my kids. I'm not sure why I'm being so witchy. Probably back to the sleep issue :( I did go to bed at 10 last night tho! *pats self on back*
b-1c applesauce, 1 scoop whey
Post: 2c oj, 1 scoop whey, 1t glutamine
1/2 chicken breast, 1c homemade chili (made with ground turkey)
Snack: 1/4c cheetos (damn chips), 2 big carrots
dinner: steak, some sort of veggie, sweet potatoes, red wine

Gym:
1 hour INTENSE spin (2 water bottles worth)
Weights: delts, some legs, some abs:
DB press 3x15@15
DB lateral raise 3x15@8
DB front raise (with one straight arm held static while other moves, then switch) 2x12@8
wide grip row 3x15@30
barbell incline press 3x15@45
SLDL 3x12@70
hyperextentions 3x15 slowly
bulgarian splits 1x15 each leg (ran out of time)
full sit ups w/ weighted ball
oblique twists with weighted ball

Spin class was beastly today. I was so glad I was up for that cause on any other day that could have been more torture than it already was. Some very intense intervals, on top of intense intervals. Felt good to get in a thorough weight session and work at it. Whatever we did at the tri class yesterday really worked my chest and upper abs. I feel like I have bruised ribs and my chest muscles are on fire and will cramp if I strain them. More of it tomorrow, I hope I can recoupe. I may begin teaching the tri class on Fridays! I talked to the group fitness manager today and asked if they thought about adding back Fridays for the class (they did that last year during the season). I told her I was interested in teaching it if they were. I realized that if I'm going to work and get a free membership at the other gym then I'll have to quit the one I'm at to save the money, which I don't wanna do! The way to get a free membership at my current gym is to either work there (duh) or get on the sub list for group instruction and teach at least 3 days a month. Nothing but CPR and a working knowledge and skill of the class is needed. I think tri class is the only one I would feel very confident of. Anyway, its a possibility so I'm holding to the hope!
Happy Valentines everyone. We're kicking it at home tonight and going out on Saturday.

Maybe you should consider (unless you've done so already and I missed it) getting some kind of group instruction certification and some insurance. Never know what you might need 'em.

When I talked to the group fitness manager she said to sub a cert. wasn't required but if I wanted to do that full time, course I'd need one. Insurance is covered by whatever club you're with. If I spend any money or time on a certificate I'd like to get the personal training one so thats my next step when I have the resources.

Ok - I just remember a friend of mine getting insurance - but then again it was basically starting her own pilates studio.

As long as she doesn't get cabin fever and fly off the handle we'll be alright.

haha yeah watch out..with the bitchy day I've had..:D
