The story of a great American athlete
As a miraculous athlete Noelle was born an Olympic champion. In Provo, Utah she grew up playing and competing in various sports including: basketball, soccer, softball, track and field, bobsled, and eventually skeleton. The youngest of 8 children, Pace was born December 8, 1982, and grew up in a large family of athletes.
After graduating high school, Noelle received a scholarship for track and field at the University of Utah. In the summer of 2002 she transferred to Utah Valley State where she began to pursue the sport of skeleton. She came in 3rd that year at the American Cup Skeleton race Championships, as well as breaking the college record for High Jump, and being titled the NJCAA National Discus champion. She was announced the 1st team all-American.
Between 2003 and 2004 Noelle competed in the World Cup Tour of Skeleton, and placed 14th overall. The next year she won her first gold medal in skeleton at the World Cup in Winterberg, Germany. In that same year Noelle was the first American woman to win a world title, and she was opted to winning the gold at the upcoming Olympic Games in the Torino Olympics. A tragic accident however, hindered her goal for gold at the Torino Olympic Winter Games. During the team's trial runs she was struck by a runaway bobsled, and suffered a fracture to her right leg. Her incredible recovery was only 6 weeks time, allowing her to still be able to compete in the Games.
Although every day life made Noelle slow down for a few years – finishing University, getting married, and most recently the birth of her baby girl, she went full out between 2008-2009 training for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. She is now ready to give her all in February in Vancouver at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.
