FIBO 2007

The Leading Trade Show for Fitness and Wellness, April 19th-22nd

19th - 22nd April 2007, Essen Exhibition Centre

New Hall Structure Ensures the Targeted Concentration of Visitor Flows FIBO Expands on its International Specialized Character

Düsseldorf/Essen. The FIBO remains on the move: following the reorganization measures in 2006, which led to the best result in years with their fresh wind of change, the FIBO shall be maintaining this course in 2007. The most important innovation: the planning of the halls allows the FIBO to further accentuate its specialized character with the added floor space and, for the first time, provides the trade visitors with a comprehensive tour. The introduction of the FIBO Active and the FIBO Event areas will mean that, for the first time, there will also be areas specifically designed for the fitness enthusiasts among the private visitors, who are primarily the members of fitness studios. Parallel to this, the FIBO POWER, as an independent event for the bodybuilding and weight training scene, will also be receiving a new home of its own in Hall 10/11 on the eastern side of the Essen Exhibition Centre.

"The new layout will put us in a position where we will be able to shape the character of the FIBO in each of these segments in a way that is more distinct and more clear," explains FIBO Boss, Olaf Tomscheit and adds that, "the first results are the additional congress and conference offers, the new customer loyalty programmes and the new sporting highlights in the event area"..

The new layout for the FIBO 2007 is set: what was once the area where the sound of the bass deafened and the bodybuilding scene let off steam, confronting the trade visitors with more shadow than light, will now be used for the trade show to expand its more specialized areas. Hall 7 will reappear in a new light; with new lighting, new air-conditioning and a visually appealing colour arrangement. The most important advantage for the trade visitors and the exhibitors: the integration of the centrally located Hall 7 in the specialized exhibition area of the FIBO will mean that the trade visitors will (finally) receive a true tour that goes through Halls 1, 2, 3, 4 and 7 and thus covers all the specialized areas.

"The feedback from the exhibitors is absolutely positive," according to FIBO boss, Olaf Tomscheit. The floor space in Halls 1, 2 and 3 are practically already fully booked and 60 per cent of the floor space in Halls 4 and 7 is already allocated. Olaf Tomscheit goes on to add that, "this is a positive result that we would not yet have expected at the current time." A further innovation is the new layout and name of Hall 6. In the future, FIBO Active will be the area where fitness enthusiasts will be able to find all the available offers from the areas of "Fashion, Music, Fun & Action" concentrated in one place.

As of 2007, "FIBO Event" will be located in Halls 8 and 9, and will be animating the visitors to take part in the DFAV Convention and Fit for Fun Cycling Festival, as well as the new Concept 2 Rowing Challenge, which will be being staged for the first time. The clear line in the hall planning continues in Hall 10/11: for the first time, the FIBO POWER will be staged in a separate area and will be accessible from an entrance of its own. In doing so the FIBO management is continuing what it started in 2006: More orientation on the trade fair grounds, a clear segment and visitor navigation, as well as the clear separation of the trade visitor and end-consumer areas.

The FIBO 2006 was a FIBO of new marketing concepts that ranged from the "new Look" of the logo to the international marketing of all the measures for the recruitment of trade visitors. The 15 per cent increase among the trade visitors showed the potential that is available for recruitment. The FIBO 2007 will be a FIBO of new specialization and new fascination for the fitness community. This is also the objective of the overall advertising and marketing concept, for which we have again been able to win over new partners in order to reach the different target groups.
