Your Biggest Influences

Just thought I'd start a thread to see from where everyone on here draws their motivation from. Feel free to share who has been your biggest influence and why. Include anyone who has influenced you, whether they be a famous athlete, bodybuilder, personal trainer, or even your grandmother. Its always interesting to see who people look up to.

Personally, my biggest influence has been Pavel Tsatsouline(not surprisingly). When I first read his books "Power to the People", "The Naked Warrior", and "Enter the Kettlebell", I was just blown away, yet still skeptical of the concepts he was presenting. Either way, I started to implement his philosophies into my training, and the payoff has been absolutely incredible. I am leaner, healthier, and stronger than I have ever been, and I owe almost all of it to Pavel's system of kettlebell training, and the influence he has had on me. If you haven't read any of the books I've listed above, do yourself a big favor and check them out! You won't regret it! Heres is the link to the website where you can find them cheapest:

I'm excited to hear where everyone draws their influences from!

i personally spent 6 years working with a physical therapist/strength and conditioning coach. By with i mean i was a co-worker, he wastn a trainer for me. however, he was also an ironman wannabe (in a good way). whenver i would get lazy (and through college when i worked with him i was), he would ask me to go run, which would increase my endorphins and get me jump started. Since leaving him 3 years ago, i had gotten kind of stagnant. Then a hey what's up email telling me he's running a triathlon and if i've been training. There's my motivation-someone who cares even when they have no reason to. Mind you i haven't spoken to him in the three years and we now live 1000 miles away from each other. Whenever i think of him or his work, or update my resume-a little spike of adrenaline kicks in.

thats great, your absolutely right too. It definitely helps when others support you even when they don't have to, I have been fortunate to have many people like that in my life as well. Keep it up!
