Sport Yogurt vs cottage cheese

Some of us don't like cottage cheese. I was wonderin if yogurt is a good substitute for a late night snack. I read the nut. fact on the yogurt and it has a decent amount of protein. This is the plain yogurt btw not the artificial sweeten stuff. It is also easy to digest. I usually eat it /w flax seeds and almonds.
 
Have you tried mixing?

I mix my yougurt and cottage chesses half and half. I normally cannot stomach much cottage cheese, but I really dont mind it this way. If you can, try to get cottage cheese without much sodium.
 
Not really because yogurt has a lot of lactose sugar in it.

Try string cheese.

You might also try to mix a scoop of chocolate or vanilla whey into the CC and a pkt of slenda for additional sweetening.
 
I mix about 3/4 cup cottage cheese and 1/2 cup no fat, no added sugar yogurt. i can barely eat cottage cheese plain.

but when my strawberry nitrean shows up, i'll have to try a half scoop of it in some cottage cheese instead. I'm surprised I never thought of that Cynic!

(prolly cuz I put whey in oatmeal once, and it was the most horrid thing I've ever put in my mouth)
 
cottage chesse is the best before sleep, easy digestion, and has alot of protein , yogurt have have fats, carbs and protein it is no a VERY significant amount i thinke there is 7 grams per serving...
 
what about drink a cup of why with milk //??? no fat milk ... still no good ???

but I think it has too much sugar right ?

not if you're taking ZMA( for me that is). right now I'm typing this farting my ass trying to sleep damnit..... The absorbtion process between calcium and zinc is really bad. now ....

how bout an orange and nuts for a late night snack...is that ok?

No, you want as little carbs as possible before bed. Carbs break down pretty easily.

You want fat and protein before bed. The fat slows down digestion and the protein takes more time to digest and metabolize.
 
omg I just bought cottage chease with no fat today and it tastes horrid ...

how do you guys eat this every night ???

I tried mixing it with whey strawberry but still not really good ... any other food I could eat before bed time ?? or different mixture ??

Who said anything about eating fat free? I eat 1-2% fat cc. I may even go 4% soon for a try.

You shouldn't be taking CARBS before bedtime. At least nothing of huge amounts or simple carbs. Vegetables are fine.

hmm maybe the 2% fat cottage taste better ??? gonna try that after i am done with this :p :p

I think all cottage cheese tastes aweful. that's why I mix it with yogurt. its not the texture, its the flavor.

Berardis bed time snack, nice. I just tried cottage cheese last night for the first time, I dont have any whey at the moment so I just put a scoop of peanut butter in it. Its not so much the taste of CC that is bad, but the texture.

Dont buy the FF kind, at least get 1%. The fat free kind has twice the sugar and carbs if I remember right.
