Sport yogurt and granola?

Sport Fitness
I eat 60 calorie yogurt by dannon, made with spenda
I love granola cereal. It's normally like 200 calories for 1/2 a cup. Is it a healthy choice to eat in the morning for breakfast?

yea

yea thats pretty good, you could always subsitute that with a nice bowl of oatmeal and a glass of water which is less calories, and maybe have the yogurt and something else for your next meal. Thats what I do just a thought

most granola is LOADED with simple sugars. if you consider most other cereals, say Cheerios for example, barely have 120cals per 3/4 or 1cup serving, and you're getting 200 from a half cup of granola. that should tell you how calorically dense it is.

if it fits into your diet, and if rapid fat loss is NOT your goal, then you could have some granola from time to time.

also, yogurt is only about 11g of protein...that's not enough for 1 meal, not even counting the milk poured on the granola.

It's good you are eating a yogurt that has Splenda instead of aspartame. You might try mixing in some cottage cheese into it to up the protein.

As for granola cereal, I would limit that to every now & then. Granola is a tricky food. People hear "granola", and think "healthy". True granola very much can be, but most processed granola bars/cereals are loaded with sugars and fat.

Try the Kashi GoLean Crunch cereal as a substitute for granola cereal.

i have some protein powder should I add it my yogurt? And how about adding special k?

I am trying to lose fat and be more lean. I love granola though but most things bad for you are always yummy!

special K does have fewer calories, but that doesn't make it great. oatmeal is still better.
why? because oatmeal is a whole grain...oats are the individual grain pieces that haven't been ground up into flour and then enriched.
oatmeal has more fiber than most cold cereals too (Kashi, Fiber One, All Bran all have more fiber though).

you could do it raw, but I always have mine cooked. a half cup of oats, cooked up, is quite filling. a lil splenda, a dash of cinnamon ,and a little peanut butter sometimes....tastey stuff.

Oats are still superior, but if you gotta have granola with your bars, then make the best choice of it - that would be a lot better than some granola.
