What is everybody's thoughts on yoghurt for breakfast?

All we have in at the moment are those Muller Lite thingies. Are they ok?

Thanks,
Ant.

are you even bothering to read any of the stickied threads around the forum? really -start with n utrition then move on to on topic -there's a lot of really good info

ok for what purpose?

Yogurt for breakfast isn't very satisfying for me... it's also very low in calories... a yogurt w/ a bowl of high fiber cereal is better for me..

For your information, yes I have bothered to read the threads.

I worked out:

My BMR= 1333.875
My Daily Calorie Intake therefore= 2067
So, using the guidelines in the sticky thread (Don't cut by any more than 30%)
30% would be... 620.25

So, 2067-620= 1447

So if I eat 1447 calories per day, I should be losing 2lbs per week, right?

I decided upon Weetabix and yoghurt for breakfast
30mins Cardio after breakfast

Soup and fruit for lunch

No dinner ideas really though =/

Anyway I can tell I'm annoying you. LOL.

o if I eat 1447 calories per day, I should be losing 2lbs per week, right?
It's not always that exact - if you're consistent in your behavior - some weeks you might lose 2.5lbs other weeks you might lose .5 lbs other weeks you might see a 1 lb gain... the body is funny like that... the numbers do not always do what you expect them to do and it's long term trends that you want to see

are you keeping track of your calories in any type of food diary program to see where your nutrients are lining up?

Protein is very important to your body...

You said you had no ideas for dinner? Who does the grocery shopping iny our house and who does the cooking? have you discussed your goals with them?

Eating right is not as complicated as some people would like it to be... You shoudl be eating what you enjoy... paying attention to nutrients and it should be something you can stick with for the rest of your life/

I'm not sure you've mentioned it anywhere but what are yout current stats (height/age/weight/gender) and what are your goals?

Yeah, I figured that. I meant roughly though. As long as I lose this belly eventually lol.
You've been a lot of help, thanks. Think I'm on the right track anyway. Might up the cardio to 1 hour when I have access to the uni gym.

Eventually being the key word...

Spot reducing (again contrary to what a lot of fad diets and fitness magazines will tell you) is not possible.. fat is going to come off where it comes off... when it comes off...

Cardio is important for both heart health and for fat loss, but don't neglect strength training as well -when you're eating at reduced calories -you will lose muscle - strenght training helps keep the muscle that you do have..

I'm Male, 18, 5,9ish and weight bout 13 stone, which is 82.5kg (I think). Start University next week, and will have access to a gym.
As for protein, I'm not high on white meat so I'll have to think of some other way.

My goal is to basically lose fat from my stomach and waist. It's weird because I'm not really "fat" anywhere else except for those areas.

Okay, I actually yogurt for breakfast. Yea, it can be not that satisfying or cannot give the full feeling, but it is a good meal to start my day. Love yogurt so much lol

I occasionally have yoghurt with some fruit and oats, kinda makes a nice change, and it still fills me up till lunch :)

Am I the only one who eats whole wheat toast with mustard on it for breakfast? har har.

That's usually what I eat. Two pieces of bread with 250ml of milk for breakfast, every day. It's one of the only things that keeps me satiated. Yogurt doesn't work for me.

Just had Weetabix wih Srawberry yoghurt for my breakfast... Tastes great.

Weetabix looks and tastes like compressed sawdust. Sorry, couldn't resist.

When I lived in England my favorite cereals were the apricot wheats at Sainsbury's, or the cranberry and cherry flavor of Dorset Cereals. Both fab, both unavailable in the US.
