Wud up!!

How ya'll doin,

Hey guys, how ya'll doin...hope everythings good. I wanna share my weight loss experience since august till today. Today, after 7 months of treadmill, dieting and pushups, i have lost alot of weight near my chest area and also lost my man boobs and gained muscle at that spot due to doing 100 pushups 50 in a stretch everyday. My thighs have also toned down and my butt area has reduced alot. I had a goal to be able to do 4 miles on the treadmill continously ever since i started and today i am able to do 4 miles continously without a break for 45 minutes at 6.8 miles per hour speed. Thats a huge accomplishment for me.I can also feel my ribs which is between the chest and the stomach and i feel so good because 7 months ago it was all fat over that area. Now my goal is to lose more weight and get a six pack. I have been doing 4 miles of treadmill, 100 pushups and been on a diet these 7 months and now i want to aim for more goals like six packs etc. Even my triceps have been showing. i turned 18 on november 4th 2005 and i do not want to lift weights until 2 more years. I am 5'11 right now and hoping to be 6' at the most. btw i am amazed by my triceps and chest due to the pushups and i cant imagine how much results lifting weights will show but i'll wait until i lose all the body fat and gain muscle mass. I started out doing 2 pushups back in august and now i could do 50 at a stretch in less than 45secs. I used to have a double chin, but now i have a thin jawline. My pant size was 38 in august and its 32 and half rite now. All my pants are gettin lose and i cannot go out without a belt on. I was 210 pounds 7 months ago, but today im 5'11 and 171 pounds, i wanna ge to 160 and then will start liftin weights and bulk...until then i'll keep on doing what i've been doin but if u have any advise, please do reply...btw here are my pics which i took recently...

-unfortunately i dun have my pics from 7 months ago.

BTW, i wanna add a little information about my family. My dad is an E.N.T Surgeon and is a Medical Director for a health insurance software company in Boston, Mass. My mom is a fully licensed Cosmetologist. I and my brother are going to a Medical School to West Indies in August 2006!. Its a 5 and a half yr course and we r gonna be back as doctors and do residency and fellowship in USA. So i hope you'll know atleast a lil abt me and hope to have a great time with you people!

Thankyou,

Nerin

Good job man! You might want to add pull-ups to your regiment.

Keep up the good work,
Rip

Rip, Advise and comments are much appreciated! I will start doing the pullups, do you have any ideas of what i could use at home in order to do pullups?

Thankyou!!

Welcome to the board. Congrats on your progress. Just one question though, why do you want to wait 2 more years before weight training ??

Thnx!!..Well i dont wanna lift rite now because i think am not ready. I wanna concentrate mainly on cardio and dieting as of rite now and when i get down to the most minimal body fat %, then i wanna start lifting weights. I wanna wait 2 more yrs until im 20. The other reason is, many people just judge my age looking at my height and overall body structure look, they think im 21 or so, and if i start lifting now, i'll be looking 25. So i wanna just cut down as much as i could and then once i turn 20, lifting weights and toning my body will be easier for me because then, i wouldnt have no or very less body fat!

I hope this clears your question, but again, if you do have any advise, or think im doing anything wrong, please, and i mean pleaseeeeee correct me!

Thankyou,

-Nerin

You will have far quicker progress getting down to your desired body fat, if you incorporate weight training.

I cannot disagree with you on that! but thanks alot.

You can lift without lifting to get bigger. Muscle burns calories, burnt calories lead to weight loss, weight loss leads to lower body fat %.

Got exposed floor joists in your basement ceiling? If so, buy a pull-up bar that attaches to them. I have one... It ROCKS!

The door frame ones usually aren't that good.

Otherwise, incorporate a jog to the local park and do 'em on the monkey bars.

5 sets of 10 aught to do the trick!
