Weight-Loss Wraps?

Weight-Loss

So I picked up some wraps at my local grocery store. Surprisingly they had Weight Watchers brand wraps on the shelf, the nutritional facts looked decent, and they were whole grain so I picked a package up. FYI i'm not on weight watchers.

Here's the link to the nutritional value of the wrap

I eat one of these, twice a day. One at lunch, one at dinner. Mon-Fri I literally have NO TIME to cook meals! I work 12-hour (sometimes more) shifts in the hospital so what I do is I bake a few chicken breasts on Sunday night, slice them up, and refrigerate them so I have enough to fill my wraps for the week.

What my lunch/dinner wrap consists of:
-1 WW whole grain wrap
-3 slices of baked chicken breast
-Shredded lettuce
-A few slices of tomato
-A sprinkle of low-fat shredded cheese (30cal)
-A line of low-fat honey mustard to top it off

Given the nutritional value of the wrap bread itself, what do you all think about it? good? bad? Too many cals from carbs?

I don't eat any other breads, pastas or rice other than these 2 wraps. My snacks consist of baby carrots dipped in fat-free Ranch, watermelon, cantaloupe, etc. So essentially these wraps are the only bread i'm eating.

I'd love to hear your opinions.

They don't seem bad. They don't seem great, but it's all about your entire diet. OCD actually posted a recipe for home made wraps - nutritionally I don't know that they're any better, but home made tend to have fewer additives.

In any event, it sounds like you're going relatively low carb in your diet, and I don't think these should hurt you - I'd focus more on making sure you're getting enough protein & veggies than about these wraps killing your diet :D

If you were making quesadillas with them and not adding the veggies and chicken it might be more of a concern because you wouldn't be getting as much protein & fiber along with your carbs, but as it stands I wouldn't sweat it.

HOnestly it's a question that can't be answered w/out knowing the rest of what you eat throughout the day.

On the fact of it, it doesn't look too bad ... but it needs to be judged in context, rather than as a stand alone item.

Here's a quick run-down of what I normally eat:

Breakfast: An Activia yogurt & some fruit, either grapes or some watermelon.

I'll snack on some grapes or watemelon until lunch (2-3 slices or 10-15 grapes)

Then I'll eat the wrap mentioned above for lunch

I'll usually snack on some baby carrots with fat-free ranch until dinner (2-3 tbsps: 90cal)

Then I'll have that same wrap again for dinner, and I'll sometimes have It with tuna instead of chicken.

Then that's it for the day. I drink about 2L of water throughout the day & usually have a glass of diet soda with my dinner.
