Sport Wraps or Sandwiches?

Which is better nutrition wise: wholegrain bread or a medium wholewheat wrap.

I can eat either, but recently I've been getting into eating wraps more just because I find there are a lot more options of things I can put in them such as rice, black beans, cottage cheese...etc.

Would this be a good substitute for wholegrain bread, or should I be incorporating both into my diet?

Thanks!

Jenn

Every diet depends on the individual and what they are hoping to get out of it and what activities they are active in. Either would be fine and incorporating both would also be good. It really depends on your activity levels.
I have just added a calculation to my blog regarding the amount of Calories required each day and adjusting it for either weight loss or weight gain. Check it out if you want. Might be able to help you out.

i'd imagine you would get more of the actual 'grains' from the bread. But i'm like you, I prefer wraps, I get bored of sandwhiches so easily

I have some 'carb sense' wraps/tortillas taht have 21g of fiber per burrito sized wrap, only 10g of net carbs.

I've yet to find store bought bread with that much fiber and that low of a net carb gain, even with 2 slices.

THese help me on my carb cycling.

The whole grain version of each are both very healthy. In general you'll get fewer carbs from the wrap than from the bread, if that is in line with your diet goals. Also, as you said, there is more variety of fillings in the wraps.
