Sport Would this be ok

Sport Fitness
Hi Guys, as i am an 18 year old male i live a typical 18 year old life haha

Would it be ok to have say:

Friday Night - 3 Beers
Saturday Night - 3 Beers

Say i class them as cheat meals and then eat perfectly all the rest of the time?

Your advice and thoughts will help

Regards

i used to have 3 drinks/night...i quit all booze for a week just to see how i felt, and my morning workouts the next day went a lot better...more energy.

the past two nights in a row though i've had 4 drinks/night and today i just felt like crapola on the treadmill...seemed like forever to reach 30mins lol.

every other day 3 drinks seems to be OK though. just my observations. you could make your recovery day sunday, that would work perfect. but less booze is better. also one tends to snack more when you've got a few beers in you....

IMO-You would be better off having a single drink a night then 6 in two conjoining days.

But as matt said, the less booze the better.

I'd think beer is a carb source, since it's made from grains... If you're cutting down on carbs, I'm not sure why you're choosing to allow beer...?

Someone wants to have their cake and eat it too I think. Fattytumtums, get used to these ideas... If you really want to be healthy and fit you'll need to change your lifestyle to make it happen. This means that a cheat is just that - you may have one, maybe two meals in the entire week where you have something not on your food plan. The rest of the time you'll have to eat healthy and clean. If that's not something you're prepared to do, then be prepared to wait longer to see progress (and have less likelihood of maintaining it once you're there).

remember that alcohol carbs are 7calories per gram, not 4calories like a starchy/sugary carb source.

Yep...booze is almost as calorically dense as fat (which is 9cals per gram)

Personally maybe a few drinks wouldnt go down too badly,

I went out on bank holiday weekend and had a few drinks, you need to live a little, but don't overdo it.

When it comes to losing wt, you have to make some sacrifices of the things you used to consume w/out thinking about.

However, I think it's important to note that you have to find that happy medium where you are able to make enough changes to see progess, but allow yourself enough slack to stick with it in the long run. This amt will be different for everyone, so there really isn't a set in stone amt that is or is not ok to "cheat".

6 beers in a weekend does seem a bit high, I would aim for less (although I know it seems like practically nothing around those who drink a case a weekend). If you feel that allowing yourself those beers will ultimately help you stick with it, then acknowledge that it may take a bit longer to reach your goals (and sometimes that's ok if it means better long term compliance), and try to make it the cheat, instead of one of several.

he may be somewhere where it's legal to drink at 18...

i had WAY TOO MUCH last night btw. like 10+ drinks, i was/am wrecked enough now that i know i'm not making it to the gym today, and damn all i want to do is eat and eat...i've stuck to the diet though regardless, but damn i know this has put me a bit further from my goals.

instead of beer you could drink vodka or rum, or any other "dry" spirit as opposed to a cordial/liqueur. less calories then a beer, i believe 64cals/floz, but you'll get the same amount of alcohol...and if you're drinking just to catch a buzz that's the way to go. i don't know about carb comparison though...someone correct me if i'm wrong here

I really hate that expression. Of course they want to eat it its THEIR cake! Why would you get a cake only to not eat it?

Why do people buy expensive bottles of wine and then store them away in their wine cellar? Because the enjoyment comes from the having not the consumption for them.

besides iv never heard of anyone who collects cakes...

Your not a fan of Seinfeld (the show)are ya PB? lol
Theres a great episode in there where Elaine eats this 30grand piece of cake(thats almost 100 years old) her boss just bought (hes an oddity collector among many other things).

why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free!

ok, so, that doesn't make any sense in this conversation. I had to say it.

I think i have heard of the book. Never read it though. Is it good?

Been a few years since I've read it but yes it's a good read. I think i'ts one of Dicken's best.
