Hello!

I need some help, and I hoping that you can help me!
I am a size 14 and prone to weight gain easily. I walk about 1mile each day and go to salsa class once a week. I dont stick to a diet as such but I do eat healthy, I try to aim to have no more then 5grams of saturated fat per meal. Me & my boyfriend cook everything from scratch, bread, sauces literally everything (although maybe once a week we have a blow out with a takeaway!) anyway my weight doesnt seem to go down, I would like to slim my thighs down for the summer so they dont chauf! does anyone know where i am going wrong or could help me?

Short answer - you're eating too much. :/

Some people would like to tell you that if you eat 'healthy' and listen to your body you'll lose weight. For some people that works. For others, you have to make a conscious effort to cut back on the amount of food you eat.

The simplest suggestion I can give you would be to go to a site like or livestrong and enter in everything that you eat (I know it will probably be harder since you cook your own food). I myself use a food scale for it, although these days I don't measure as much as I used to.

Once you put all the data in you can see exactly how many calories you're eating in a day - and if you're eating too many.

Alternatively, you can do a few other things to reduce calories without counting -
Only eat 2/3 of what's on your plate instead of what you'd normally eat. (Without just putting more on your plate!)
Cut back on the breads & sauces - sadly they tend to have a very high calorie count per volume.
10-20 minutes before a meal eat a bunch of veggies - raw, steamed, etc - without added fat or oil to fill you up.
Actually look at the calories of things you buy and try to buy more of the ones that have fewer calories for the same amount of volume.

Without knowing more about what you consider healthy eating beyond the 5g of saturated fat limitation it's somewhat hard to give more advice...
