Would like some experienced advice please

Hi,

I've been working out for a couple of years now, so am familiar with some decent weights exercises for the major muscle groups..

However I have a trend i'd like to fix..

When I work out and get bigger, my stomach and 'love handles' tend to grow as well. I do some abs exercises and make them stronger, but they're covered with a layer of fat..

When I go through slimming periods i can slim down fine but lose a bunch of muscle as well.

What I'd really like to know is how i can lose my gut and 'love handles' without losing the muscle i've gained.

Any help would ge greatly appreciated. Thanks!
