Sport Worried about the sugar I'm getting from non-fat mil

Sport Fitness
I used to only take in 2 cups of non-fat milk a day, which is 24g of sugar per day.

Since I am bulking now I take in 4-6 cups a day due to my whey protein shakes, and my meal shakes.

That is around 48 - 72g of sugar daily. This is not counting whatever trivial amount of sugar I get from other foods and fruits.

Is this bad? I really don't see any other liquid besides non-fat milk that would actually make my shakes edible. I heard you can use water for protein shakes, but doesn't that taste horrible?

I have no idea what to do, and I am worried that this sugar is going to give me much more fat while I bulk.

I made the switch to water, just use a blender if possible with an ice cube or two.

You need some sugar to function so I doubt that little sugar in milk will hurt your diet. Worry about calories more. Stay away from the soft drinks is the main thing.

But is 48g - 72g of sugar considered little? I mean...it seems like alot.

This is not counting sugar from my fruits and from whatever other foods I eat.

I eat healthy though, so the remaining sugar from my whole foods is trivial at best......but the fruits.

Soft drinks....meh...the thought of those things make me cringe. I mainly drink water, only ever using milk when I need to liquify whatever shakes I make.

Do 1/2 and 1/2 water/milk, right there you cut the sugar in half and they'll still taste good. And you're bulking, some sugar won't kill you.

Bah, I thought I made that up! :D Don't worry too much about the sugar if this is all you are consuming of it anyway.

10% of your daily calories can come from sugar. I wouldn't go much above that though.
