Worried about my deadlifts

i am worried i might injure myself, because i follow all the instructions but the thing is, maybe i'm getting something wrong because my thighs look to be much more affected than my back. maybe that's part of it but being careful won't hurt, so i decided to ask

What do you mean by it "looks" like your legs are more affected?

One thing to note is that pretty much every muscle in your low back is a hip/leg muscle. Quads, thighs, groin, it all stems from the lower part of your spinal region, in general terms, so if you're working those muscles, you are working your back.

Squatting and dead lifting will help your upper body grow, because you use your upper body on both squats and dead's. Squats are not just a leg exercise because your upper body holds the weight and transfers the power from your legs to the bar. If you think both are lower body exercises then get your technique looked at by somebody who knows what they're doing.

Can you video yourself deadlifting and post it?
