working out everyday of the week

ok so basically my plan is workout according to the following schedule:
day 1 upper body (mostly arms, a little bit of chest, but no abs)
day 2 lower body
day 3 abs
day 4 upper body
day 5 lower body
day 6 abs
....
and the pattern continues...
now the general rule is that one should work out only 3-4 days a week.. however in this plan, i basically am working out each part (upper, lower and abs) only twice a week... moreover, i get recovery for one part even when working out on other parts... for eg, when i work out my lower body, i get recovery for my upper body..

so is this plan good?

It really depends on what your goals are, if you could let us know what you are trying to achieve through your training we can give you a better answer.

I am a skinny guy, but with quite some belly fat. I basically want to tone myself so as to make my muscles (biceps, triceps, forearms, abs, calves, etc.) more visible - a 'beach body' as many call it. At the same time, I also want to increase the strength and power of these muscles as I am quite weak - i always lose at arm restling, i fail at being aggressive in sports, etc :p

P.S. I dont want to become TOO buff and look grotesque.

From looking at your training program now, and your goals, I would suggest you change it up. You will also need to follow a strict diet.

I can help you with this if you are interested

i will suggest you to keep change in doing this workout.. as if you continue with this plan... your minor muscles would not be worked out... as i see you are focusing only on major muscles..

hey joshuawilson, thanks for the suggestion.. i would kindly request you to visit my journal and have a look at the exercises i am going to do.. then if you still think i need to change.. please put forward your recommendations :)

You are doing WAY too much arm work. And where are the real upper body exercises? Work your chest, lats, and shoulders and your arms will get plenty of work as well, plus you won't look like a dork with big arms and no chest and no back or shoulders. If you feel you must do arm stuff, do the arm work as finishing routines after you are done with the real lifting. A 'beach' body is more about a V shape. Without lat and shoulder work you are just going to be a pencil with big arms, and that equals a redneck body, not a beach body.

Hey thanks for that advice. Umm could you please check out my journal. Over there, I posted my modified workout. Please have a look at the exercises. The thing is I don't want to become too big in terms of my chest, arms, etc. I just want to be lean/toned/sexy :p
So if you could suggest some effective LIGHT exercises for chest, lats, that would be great.

lastly, i have one more question. as you can see in my workout, i am doing 2 exercises for biceps (bicep curls and preacher curls), triceps (push ups and bench dips) and forearms (palms-up and palms-down wrist curls) each. would you rather suggest if i do ONE for biceps (barbell curl), triceps (push ups), forearms (reverse barbell curls), chest (floor flies), back and lats each?

im trying to cut down on the NUMBER of exercises (not sets, but the types of exercises themselves) because i find myself working out for more than an hour.. my warm up takes 30 minutes

Where did you read that? I think you read it wrong. You should only work out a muscle group once every 3 to 4 days...to allow recovery and repair of the muscle, joints, etc.
You SHOULD get an hour of physical activity EVERY day, for heart health and simply maintaining a more active lifestyle.
