working out drunk?

hey, sorry if this has already been totally exhausted but...

does anyone else exercise when they are wasted? i have a strange habit of walking into my apartment drunk and working out. it can't be good for me, haha...but i just can't not work out.:yelrotflmao:

any takers?

Nope, never officially worked out drunk. But, when I was a bit younger, I lived in DC for about 9 months and did not have a car. Instead, I would bike everywhere, including home from the bars. There were a few times I probably should not have done so! Like the time my friend and I somehow crashed into each other (I totally blame her) and ended up laughing our asses off, bikes splayed, sitting in the middle of a DC street in the middle of the night. Or the time I did not realize I still had my helmet on until who knows how long later when I went to brush my teeth and saw my drunk and still-helmeted head in the mirror. :p

I've also played on a few soccer teams where we'd occasionally have some beer on the sidelines, and wouldn't always wait until the end of the game to drink it.

Indeed some good times, but in all seriousness, if you want to get a good workout, I'd say do that first, then have your drinks if that's your thing!

lol! duly noted by both posts!

yeah, i consistently work out in the afternoon (way, way before my first drink!). but, often times when i drink, i get this strange urge to exercise -- at least a set of jumping jacks and a set of crunches.

now that i think about it, i must look pretty insane jumping around the room. sigh. oh well! :)

ok, so it's friday night in nyc and i'm a little drunk and of course, i get the urge to get on my exercise ball.

bad...bad move.

no lunch upchuck but my knees are pretty much screwed for life.

damn that ball.

I'm a little confused here - is this some kind of a drinking diary?!

On a serious note, whilst you may get the urge to train when you're drunk, too many of your senses and ability too judge things are impaired to do so either safely or effectively. Sure, maybe this time you just bashed your knees a bit by sliding off a fit-ball. Next time, you may drop a bar on your skull and cause yourself a serious injury which could prevent you from training at all.

it's clear that you don't get the urge to exercise after some booze and a night out on the town. i do and was wondering if anyone else did. along the way, people made some jokes. that's it.

and, i didn't actually bash my knees. i was joking around. it was more of a situation where i kept rolling off the ball in the middle of the exercises. i exaggerated about my knees. they are fine. it was supposed to be a joke.

anyway, thanks for the advice.

(and sorry for posting this thread in the wrong place - my bad!)
