Sport Working Graveyard Shift now

Sport Fitness
Hey community,
Been a while since I've been on here. 25yo, 162lbs, 5'9
The issue I'm having is that I recently got a desk job but its a graveyard shift. Yeah, weird that a desk job would need a graveyard shift. But I find it convenient because I still need to go to school.
However, my eating pattern (and of course my sleeping pattern) has gotten completely out of wack. I can deal without much sleep, though I know that I won't be able to develop and recover as well I would if I get an adequate amount of sleep.
The problem I'm having is not being sure if I should eat while I'm working. Then I''m not sure if I should eat as soon as I get home. I didn't used to eat late at night before because while I do want to gain muscle, I want to get my body fat to lower than 10%. I'm at about 12-14%,. I don't want to just slim down or else I'd simply run all the time. My goal is to gain some mass, nothing drastic, but mainly to get below 10% body fat.
The problem I have is that i don't want to take in so much food overnight while I'm just sitting here, 11pm-7am. But I know that I also shouldn't starve myself. And when I get home, I go straight to sleep so I don't know if I should eat prior to sleeping, 8am-9am. I usually wake up from 12pm-2pm and thats when I eat. I then eat a snack and then another meal at about 5pm. Banana and a protein shake before my workout at either 7pm or 8pm and another banana and protein shake when I get back. And then the unsure cycle of eating begins.
I have started eating 2 protein bars spread throughout the night. This is nowhere near how I used to eat where I had all 6 meals set. I just don't want to intake much of anything before I go to sleep or while I'm just sitting there doing nothin.
I've noticed that this has diminished my energy greatly when I go to the gym. So thats why instead of just eating all the time, I'm turning for some help. Any help is greatly assisted. Thanks in advance.

You want to be eating during your graveyard shift. Don't be worried about the sitting not doing anything factor. Most of us don't have a physically demanding job, but regardless you still need to eat. If you don't eat during those times, it will actually act as a detriment. Take me for instance. When I go to bed I always seem to try to keep my carbohydrate intake very low and mostly eat proteins. But at all hours before that I don't worry about my carb intake. The same should apply to you. Lastly, You may be unaware, but your brain takes a lot of sugars and fats to work properly. If you're not eating well, not only are you hurting your body, you're hurting your brain.

Remember, when you go into the gym, 99% of you needs to be in the head. You need to have the right attitude. Good luck, and start eating!

Spread your total desired food intake in several meals across your waking hours.

Be sure to have breakfast soon after you wake up.
