Wondering would i should do now that im healthier

Well i have went from 189 pounds to 150 pounds ever since September by simply running on my treadmill. Of course im lighter now but its dissapointing me that im not able to run for more then 20 minutes at a speed of 7.0 mph.

Usually i warm up for 5 minutes at 4.0 mph, then run 20 straight minutes at 7.0 mph, then cool down for 5 minutes at 4.0 mph which equals 30 minutes.

But i feel like i should be able to run for more time, i mean im 5'4 and 150 pounds which most likely is my healthy weight, my endurance has increased but for me to burn off the last 10 pounds im going to need to run a little longer because those last pounds can be the hardest to lose since its fat u dont really need to lose, u understand what im saying?

Like of course im thinner now, my neck is more cut, my chest is flatter and so is my stomach, my thighs are thinner, and i can almost see every vain in my arm clearly as they pop out. My face is thinner also, overall im proud with my progress but i wanan be skinny so what can i do? Should i try interval training or not, because i think long distance is much better for weight loss and calorie burning.

I'm not sure about your situation, but I'll share my similar experience. I'm quite a bit taller and heavier, 6'4'' and was at 225 pounds a couple years back. I decided to run my ass off week in and week out, and finally got my weight down 30 pounds to 195. The problem was, I had lost some fat, but surely a lot of muscle. It didn't help that my metabolism was probably screwed up worse than ever due to my poor eating habits.

Anyways, it was extremely difficult to maintain that low weight, and to be honest, I had that fat skinny look. So my weight drifted up to 210, and stayed for some time. I started researching lifting weights, and got myself a program which was not very good, but it was a start. Skip forward many months and I really got serious, started doing effective routines, with major lifts, deadlifts, squats, lunges, and well designed push and pull exercises. I've been on that for a couple months, and feel better than ever in my life.

Granted, I'm still very far from my goals, but waking up every day feeling great instead of nearly dead is a nice thing. Muscle growth is an amazing thing, it will make you feel excellent, day in and out, especially if you are eating right.

So, this probably isn't what you wanted to see or read, but I really think you'd be much better served with a lifting routine. Stop paying attention to the number on the scale, and your physique. I guarantee everything would work out as you wish if you developed some muscle on your frame. Just my 2 cents.

Thats a great idea man. I think lifting would be great to raise my metabolism but what u just told me about staying at a low weight being difficult kinda scares me because i myself have a low metabolism naturally. But thats why i wanna get down to 140 and just make sure i stay in the range of 140-145. I think i can do that because i dont eat as much as i used to, and i know what makes me fat and what doesnt make me fat. And man if u having problems maintaining a weight just run a lot. Running is the key to weight loss, weight lifting is good but after u are done running u not only losing weight, but u are burning calories even after u are done working out, your metabolism increases, it does wonders.

I lost a lot of muscle just like u did but im loving the way i look cause this is exactly wat i wanted. I went from a chunky short kid to a slim and toned kid. Im happy about it because its all i have wanted for the past 3 years. I finally comitted to losing weight and i did it, i have lost 39 pounds so far and thats not the end. Hang in there, im willing to help anybody whos having trouble cause i know what it feels like.

Well that's cool man, just so long as you are happy with your progress. For me, the running was a good and bad thing. I have extremely good endurance, I can run 6-7 miles with not too much problem. So I had lost weight, but the bad things surfaced quickly. My body just felt weak, I would get bad chafing from running on my thighs, and I had lost a ton of muscle. So maybe it works better for some, but it was damn near killin' me!
