Of course you will get stronger and the exercises will get easier..and then you'll get other tapes and add weights.........and you'll give US advice!!!!

Keep it up! Be brave!

Haha, thanks for your support!! It made me feel really good, I think my posture today was better than it has ever been! So I just did the video again tonight and it was already easier ;)

Just out of curiousity... does anyone know if pilates will help burn fat?

Having a calorie defecit will burn fat, mainly through cardio, strength training and diet.

This is what Tom Venuto (bodybuilder/personal trainer) says about it...

"Pilates is great for people who enjoy that type of exercise.
For maximum results, I would recommend incorporating it addition
to a program of resistance training and cardio, not in place
of it. That's not because I think Pilates is ineffctive or
doesn't have benefits, it's simply that some of the claims
being made for certain videos and classes are stretching the
truth a bit (bad pun intended)."

You found your core! Doesn't it feel nice. It gets easier over time, so chin up! I dont care for Denise Austin very much, I recomend a video called "The Method: Pilates". It is broken down into 4 segments, arms, abs, hips, thighs each segment is 15 mins. I have the DVD and just love it cause I can custimize my workout and one day do 2 segments and then the next day to the remaining 2 segments. On days where i am in a crunch for time i'll just do one segment and dont feel cheated.

Hope i helped! keep up with pilates, Denise Austin or try a class or different video, it gets easier, and when it gets to easy your doing something wrong.

hey, thanks dmg! I got another video just to change things up a bit- it's one with suzanne deason. It's really relaxing but pretty slow paced. I mean, in the other one I broke a sweat, but in this one I didn't. Do you think it's still helping?

I agree with Tom Venuto. I actually bought Winsor Pilates like 6 months ago, and used it a lot on it's own, thinking that I will get those "longer and leaner" arms and legs, and really toned abs. It was really hard at first, but I used it for 30 days, and I did see a difference, however it wasn't what they guaranteed it to be.
I lost an inch off my waist, and my legs were firmer, but no significant weight loss. Then I stopped trying for a few months, gained everything back, plus more. Now I incorperate the pilates in my program of cardio and resistance training. Overall it's pretty good.

I started off on Windsor as well. You will def see results. I found that I didn't lose a whole lot of weight, but I looked amazing. I'm a size 6 if i don't diet or exercise at all, so I'm not naturally heavy. I went to a size 4 with the pilates. My love handles went away and there were no bulges on my thighs. And its so EASY! Windsor is too slow paced for me. I just bought The Classical Pilates DVD and it moves pretty fast and I like it. I honestly don't think there's anything that works quicker than pilates/yoga. But adding 30-45 min of cardio a few days a week should def be added for weight loss!
