Hello,

Posted this last week in the Welcome Forum. Adding it here now.

I am a new to this forum, but sadly not new to the weight loss game. I will try to keep my story brief and to the point.

I am 30 years old (almost!) and have struggled with my weight since all of my teenage and adult life. I have fluctuated between gaining and losing 3 stone (44 pounds) for the past 10 years. I lose the weight, then gain it again. When I have lost the weight, I feel confident, interested in dating etc. However, when I am the 3 stone heavier, I am depressed, eat incessantly and have no interest in socialising or dating.

This is clearly a deeply rooted issue and much of my mood and confidence is tied up with my weight. I use food to reward myself and to comfort myself when feeling low.

After a year of feeling fat, I am ready to try and give this a go… properly. I do not want to enter my thirties dieting and binging the whole time. I intend to get in to fitness again and eat sensibly. No crash dieting, just 1,600 calories daily and exercise throughout the week.

I am going to post pictures every 4 weeks to track my progress and hopefully see a big difference.

My current stats:

Age: 29 (30 in 3 weeks)

Gender: Male

Weight: 13st. 12[194 pounds / 88kg]

Height: 5ft 11

BMI: 27

I weigh every Sunday and post my results for those of you who are interested!

Wish me luck!

Hi, Will & welcome to the diary section of the WLF forum. You don't have much to lose I would think & maybe it's a good time to start thinking about long-term & sustainable goals. What is your usual daily "diet"? Do you eat junk food and/or drink soft drink/soda? Do you cook for yourself? Tell us a bit more about what you eat now & what you plan on doing. 1600 cals for someone your age is not much & may not be enough to reach your nutrition goals. Are you able to see a dietician or nutritionist? It's a great time to be making lifestyle changes that will see you getting off the dieting merry-go-round. Good for you!

Thank you for the welcome. This weeks update:

13st 2 - 184 pounds
This weeks loss: 3 pounds
BMI - 25.6

Total lost: 10 pounds

I'm feeling motivated. Stuck to my 1,600 calories for the most part.
Fitbit steps this week: 98,000
