Hi, I'm new here as of today, and things look great here. I was using a different pay site for support and forums, but it got very stale and clique-ish and I have wanted to leave for about 6 months now. Trouble is, it was like shopping at the same grocery store and wanting to shop elsewhere -- you hate to go somewhere new because you know all the clerks and you know where everything is.
I found this today, though, and was very impressed with the features. AND.IT'S.FREE.
Holy Cow~!
About myself -- I'm 45, married with a 16yr old daughter and a 19yr old son (one's a HS sophomore, one's a college sophomore). I started losing weight in September of 2004, at my highest weight of 267. I lost weight steadily until June of this year, and got down to about 197. I struggled all summer, going up 5 and down 5 and wound up in September of this year still at 197.
I really got back to it and managed to get to 191, and then had to do quite a bit of travelling again (one of my slippery slopes) in September and I have been gaining and yo-yo-ing ever since. I got as high as 222, but I'm at 214 now. Isn't it amazing how good 200 feels on the way down, and how horrible it feels on the way up?
One other thing is that I'm Type II diabetic. At my heaviest, I was on 2 different oral meds (max dose daily) and 3 shots of insulin per day. I managed to get off ALL diabetic medication, but things haven't been good in the last few months, so I know that I need to get things in hand again or I will be back on at least some of the meds.
I'm feeling a new-found resolve and motivation. I'm so glad I found this place, I really like the look and feel of it. Weird thing is though, it's the same colors as my previous site. LOL.
Whew, thanks for reading, I'm probably just going to lurk until I get the "lay of the land" around here.![Smile :) :)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
