Will Whey Protein help bulk up with calisthenics?

I'm 5'6 and 130 lbs. I go on the treadmill to start off for about 30 mins(300-500 cals). I do 200 pushups everyday with an additional 35 lbs on my back. I also do a strictly bodyweight ab workout(no dumbells or anything, just variations of crunches and whatnot). I recently got whey protein and use it everyday. I was wondering if I'll bulk up with my workout plan and protein(whey and also some kind of meat).

Im fairly new to the whole weight training/ body building scene but from my research and what people have told me you seem to be going about it the wrong way.

In short you need a calorie surplus and a good full body routine with mostly compound exercises (squat, bench, military press) before you will gain mass.
As well as a good diet and plents of rest.

Stop the 200 push ups a day you arms need time to grow. :costumed:

Dermo is pretty much correct. Just taking protein doesn't bulk you up. You need a calorie surplus, comprised of a good balanced diet and good macro ratios.

You need sufficient muscle tissue trauma to inducer hypertrophy, and then good recovery/rest between workouts so the body can repair the muscle tissue so its bigger and stronger.

200push ups sounds well and good, except all that does is train you to do 200 push ups. Endurance training is what you are currently doing, and its only gonna get you to a certain point before you'll need REAL weight training with dumbbells, barbells, etc.

keep doing what you're doing, but understand you're going to plateau in your training very quickly.
