Will this type of cardio work?

(Right now I'm doing football (american)) .

Alright I have 7 weeks to Wrestling season and to be honest my cardio system really sucks even with practices. So I decided every Sunday I'm going to be doing a special type of cardio.

Wrestling require Anareboic and Aerobic energy systems. So I am gonna incorporate HIIT and Moderate Intensity Jogging in a 1 hour session

1.) The first 20 minutes will be HIIT. A 1 minute Jog followed by a 30 second sprint and repeated. (anareobic)

2.) Because Cortisol levels are really high now from this I will consume a whey protein shake.

3.) Now I will do my steady-state cardio for 40-60 minutes until my father decided to leave the gym (aerobic) (he worksout forever).

4.) Possibly another whey protein shake and some simple carbs like a gatorade.

Will this work??
 
You're going to burn some serious calories though, that's some serious running, I did that routine sometimes while I was cutting
 
I just read up on some HIIT and after HIIT you shouldn't be able to do any more cardio after 20 minutes of it. So Idk. I'll see what happens today.
