I'm 5'5" and weigh 112lbs. I have a pear body and am trying to look proportionate. I've started keto, and weight lift at the gym (45min to 1 1/2 hours) every other day, sometimes every day.

It seems like no matter how much weight I loss, my thighs/hips are larger than my upper body. If I continue to loss weight will I even out? Should i focus on muscle gain in my upper body?

when i start gaining weight, i notice that fat is rather selective as to where it likes to form and at different stages. before i started losing, the last 10 lbs i gained were all in my butt. but your weight puts you in a very low (referring to weight) healthy BMI. if you go to a gym, i'd ask a trainer ... if you have one there... i go to the Y and there is always someone there who will give out advice. they might have an idea on how you can target an area or whether you have to decrease muscle mass vs losing fat.

Where you store fat is governed by genetics, for ladies the most common problem area is hips and thighs, for men it is often around the middle. Hormones also play a part of where your fat is stored.

however, at your current weight for your height you are borderline under weight, so you need to get your bodyfat % measured, and stop working on weight loss and begin the process of body re-composition. you will not build the muscle you need while in calorie deficit, and yes this will mean gaining some weight through extra muscle to boost metabolism and reduce the remaining fat.

The type of routine while lifting at the gym is important, the lifting routines needed to build strength and maintain muscle during deficit is different to what is needed to build muscle mass.
