of stretch marks... embarrasing question, yea. I am 6'2'" and 237 lbs. My highest weight was about 244. Over the past couple years, I gained those nasty things. And even when I lose the weight, it is going to stink going to a pool wothout a shirt or something. So its not much motivation to lose the weight when I am still going to be uncomfortable. They are pretty bad, and I hate them. I was wondering, is there anything to reduce the appearence and make them non visible. Will exercise help? ANy info would be appreiated. Sorry for the weird question.

exercise isnt going to help them, but I have heard that cocoa butter lotion helps a little- at least thats what I have been using. The main thing that will make them disappear is time. I have stretch marks that I have acquired throughout different parts of my life. My newest ones are red and very visible, but my old ones are very very faint white lines. But dont worry too much about them, they are more noticeable to you than they are to anyone else.

Yep, they suck....

And as a man I can't even blame them on pregnancy..... Sigh...

But, they do fade and eventually become less noticable, at least for me. Some people recommend vitamin E cream to help them go away but I don't know if that works or not. I don't even notice mine anymore, but they are still there. I am sure many a mother here can offer you much better advice than me, but I really dont think exercising will make a huge difference, other than losing weight and reducing the possibility of new ones. In my experience they do fade away and become almost invisible in time.

For my money I would rather look fit and wear a teeshirt to the beach to hide my stretchmarks than be overweight and wear a teeshirt to hide my stretchmarks.

Agreed!

I do have the same worries, though; i have a ton of stretchmarks, huge red ones all around my midsection and inner arms. While i sort of can't wait to be able to show off a fit body at the beach some day, it's still a bit worrisome to think about unsightly stretch marks.

If nothing else the redness does go away...

But as for the faded little marks...... Only time will tell. I plan on having a formidible enough physique that people are too busy staring in awe to notice little strech marks.....

Thats the plan anyways.... ;)

Hey, i went from 190 to 245 in 7 months (this was 5 years ago) and i got horrible stretch marks all over but theyve pretty much all faded to nothing, only in certain lighting conditions can you really make them out, if i look down at my stomach right now i cant see them and when i first had them and for a couple of years or so after they were bright red/purple, so don't worry they will fade in time.
