Sport will eating too much protein make me fat/where should i get my protein from?

hey, let me break this down into points:
-i am trying to cut down on weight, kinda chubby now but have solid muscle foundation (6 foot, 200 lbs roughly)
-gym routine: 20 min basketball, 1-1.5 hours of lifting, then 35 minutes of running
-does it make a difference whether or not i get most of my protein from my Whey Protein shakes? (i have it with milk) and i typically eat some meats and yogurt throughout the day
-if i have too much protein (like maybe 2 shakes a day on top of meals) will it make me fat or will my body just not use it?
 
excess calories are used to repair muscle, or get stored as fat.

it sounds liek you have no idea what you are taking in for macronutrients. do that first. You're basically wandering in the dark, asking good questions, but you don't know how the answers actually apply to your own dietary intake. Yet.
