Sport Wil I be able to lose fat on a diet similar to this?

Sport Fitness
Here is some basic information about me. I am a 17 year old male, 6'1 tall, and just over 180 Lbs. Currently I am trying to cut my BF level's so I can then begin to bulk. I have been working out for roughly 2 years and saw little to no results, then I finally clued in after I did some research, my diet was poor and needed to be re-adjusted badly.

I have just started the process of losing fat and have made many changes to my diet. Fitday has been a very useful link, but I end up having to add every food I eat manually pretty much.

Here is my Fitday link for What I ate today, basically what I plan on eating most days, but I did not get a chance to have any Oatmeal (which is normally a regular for me with some Splenda) or my Daily Eggs (5 whites, 2 yolks).

Total today I ate just unfer 1300 Calories (normally would be higher because of my morning oatmeal and banana as my first breakfast), but Fitday says that I should be taking in around 2014 at basal.

I am just wondering if this is too drastic of a drop or if it will work to drop the fat I hate.

By the way, I am very open to the use of protien powder/bars (espcially home made) if they are needed more or will help my gains. I also picked up some fish oil caps.

1300 is way low man.
I'm about 5'9", 185lbs, and I'd guess 19% bodyfat right now (yes, I am cutting!)

I'm snacking about 2000 cals a day and getting leaner each week.

a really rough way to estimate your calorie needs for cutting is to take your bodyweight and multiply by 11 or 12. Having just done this for myself, I can tell you its gonna be about 2,200 cals a day.

I congradulate you on researching baz,

Your still pretty young.....I'm guessing your still in highschool (which makes the whole meal timing a little tough)

Keep researching and eat mainly whole foods. 3x a day with a few good snacks.

Here's a little lesson for not undereating (if you count calories)
Take your body weight/ divide by 2.2 and then multiply by 22

This will give you a good estimate of your RMR (resting metabolic rate)

DO NOT EAT BELOW THIS CALORIC NUMBER

Normally I wouldnt be as low as 1300, probably around 1700 with my eggs and oatmeal. If I am home for supper (which is somewhat rare) I usually have some sort of lean meat with potatoes and veggies. I guess I could try some tuna with peppers and other mixed veggies as my meal #4 for meals when im away from home.

I was looking at some good home made protien bar recipes on Berardi's web site, would slapping a couple of those fill the gap here?
