Weight-Loss Why is this not working

Weight-Loss

OK, so I just don't really have time for a well balanced diet and i'm really picky but I need help to figure out if this is working for me or hurting me.

mon-fri I have class an hour away from about 8:30-10:30/11 I have lunch around 11-12 then go back from class from 1-4/5:30 then I drive an hour home and I usually eat something that's just there...not particularly good for me I guess.

Generally I skip breakfast... just don't have time for it but I also don't know what to eat that would help me in the morning.

for lunch I have the same thing EVERY day, ham and cheese on whole wheat with mayo... sometimes I do turkey instead just to switch it up but it's usually ham.

When I get home I sometimes don't eat at all or I eat something that's just there like cereal or something crappy but I barely ever get myself stuffed.

Now I used to be a fat 250 and I went into hyperdrive a month ago and did a crazy amount of cardio every day with some weights and lost 20 pounds really fast and I haven't gained it back but my stomach is still flabby, my thighs are still big, and my chest didn't flatten out.

I don't have the real time to get a solid cardio routine going and I also got sick of running 3 miles EVERY day and not seeing the results I wanted...

I don't wanna be cut, big, ripped, whatever I just want to be skinny.

I wanna get my diet squared away before I try to figure out how to get a better work out with my limited time so I just do some bicep/tricep/push up/crunches sets late at night and that's about it right now.

Am I gonna get to my goal of losing the actual fat by just eating the same damn thing every day or am I wasting my time.

What can I do when I get home if I want to eat that night... i don't eat veggies but I love fruits like bananas, and apples.

So you want to lose a significant amount of weight but you don't want to make time for it?

That's technically what you're asking.

No offense, but your schedule doesn't seem half as busy as mine and I eat a great diet containing 4-6 meals every single day. But I'm not lazy. I prepare all of my foods in advance so it's simply a matter of grabbing and going. I cook my meats, weigh them out and bag them. I separate my nuts, veggies, cooked pasta/rice, etc into serving size baggies. Everything is done in advance.

I own a business. I work another job. I have a newborn. I have a huge property that takes a lot of upkeep. I have an active social life. But I also prioritize my health.

I mean what are we without our health?

Will your way of eating work?

Well define "work."

If you mean will it cause weight loss.... sure, assuming you're truly eating those 2 small meals per day.

Is this maintainable for life? Most likely not considering you were already obese.

Is this balanced enough to promote health? No.

Will this method lead to a good body? No, but you supposedly don't care about that.

So yes, if you'd like to temporarily lose some weight... have at it.

Maybe you're eating too much?

Skipping breakfast and dinner? No way he's eating too much. And I agree with Steve, I call BS on "I don't have time to eat healthy." You've got to get that out of your head first and foremost. The #1 thing that has to happen before anyone can lose any amount of weight is the decision to do what it takes. Whenever I complain about not losing weight my gf is quick to tell me thats it's only because I don't really want to.

Once you've made the decision to lose weight, you're halfway there. Definitely eat breakfast. Get some protein powder and throw it in a glass of whole milk - bam, breakfast. Lunch needs to be more food - add an apple or banana. For dinner you should load up on veggies - and if you feel like complaining that you don't eat veggies, see the first paragraph.

Welll, my schedule is as it goes...
Mon. and Weds. : wake up at 5:30, leave my house at 6, arrive at school between 7:30-8, class from 8:30-10:30, lunch at 11, class from 1-5:30, get in my car and get home around 6:30-7...
Tues., Thurs., and Fri. : wake up at 5:30, leave my house at 6, arrive at school between 7:30-8, Clinical from 8:30-5 with a 30 minute lunch at 12, home around 6-6:30.

Because I live so far from school and I goto school 5 days a week with the same schedule it's extremely difficult to fit certain things in. Breakfast yes I can fit it in if I wake up early enough however what can I eat...lucky charms and 2%... i'm not saying I don't want to try to eat better i'm asking for advice on what I could eat.

I used to buy an eggwhite and cheese on whole wheat when I got to school and an orange juice with it but since sept traffic has gone from making my 40 min. commute to an almost 2 hour commute on a normal day so I don't get enough time to get to the city to grab food.

I'm not simply allowed to just pull food out and eat it... I goto a medical college and we aren't even allowed to have water bottles while we are there and I sneak mine in every day.

I'm not looking to give excuses or pity just advice... I understand you're trying to make a point but that's not helping me. I know i'm not doing things correct which is why i'd like help to get myself in that direction.

I can't really figure out what to eat for dinners when I get home it's either what my parents make which is never healthy enough for me or what I can scrounge up.

Essentially I want stuff I can eat EVERY DAY... I don't mind if I eat the same thing everyday as long as it's good for me and I like it... I won't get sick of it especially if it's helping me achieve my goal of losing weight. Do I eat junk food... not really... I don't eat at ANY fast food restaurants like McDonalds, Burger King, Wendys, etc... I completely cut all of them out of my choices for food like 3 years ago... I honestly haven't even walked or been near a Mcdonalds in over 3 years...maybe longer... I never even liked it.

I'm looking for maximum weightloss so I don't really know what to look out for when i'm reading things off of packages other than how many calories it has which I try to keep pretty low.

So, besides cereal what's something good I can sink my teeth into, I do the carnation breakfast mixes with milk every so often which tastes great but I don't really know if it's worth it.

And for Dinner what should I look into... what condiments should I be avoiding and which ones should I eat more of.

You have 2 days off correct.. my work schedule is like your plus 3 hrs of class 2 nights a week...

If i was you on sunday i would go buy some chicken breast and other lean meats cook them all up on sunday for 5 days worth of dinner, get some brown rice cook up a big pot and bag them for 5 days worth of dinner and get some steamer vegetables...

Then what i would do is since you have absolutely no time for breakfast i would get whole milk and protein powder of some type...

For lunch get turkey and ham lunch meat get a cooler to keep your food cool "Lunch size" "make sandwich the night before and some whole breads and eat that for lunch get fruits to..

For snacks buy some decent snack bars like clif or what ever is in your area that don't taste like pooo Almonds are good to to snack on plus any fruit... and your set... easy as that...

Seriously you will half to put some effort into this... but the good news and first step is your asking question..

oh and my favorite breakfest witch takes all of 5 mins to make 3 eggs and 1/2 cup of oatmeal with a little brown sugar yum yum...

Thanks for the advice the chicken and rice sounds AWESOME i'm DEFINTIELY gonna try that... now I don't goto the grocery store...i'm 22 and still live at home so my parents stock the unhealthy kitchen haha.

So, what kinda chicken do I look into? I'm assuming I don't wanna go near breaded chicken?

For lunch i've been mainly eating only a turkey or ham and cheese sandwich on whole wheat with mayo.... is this ok for lunches or should I take the cheese off or mayo or substitute something in between them? OR, does that not really matter?

I do chicken breast with zesty lemon seasoning, no breaded chicken or fried.. your lunch sounds fine i do tuna fish sometimes i use the Olive oil mayo kraft makes a little different at first but taste great now at half the cals.. keep the cheese do not forget the veggies have some baby carrots with the sandwich.. DO you make or get any money if not ask your parents to get you this stuff.. ask if you can go shopping with them and get stuff you need.. ill make a list tomorrow for you of good things to eat... so u can mix it up... just remember u do get 2 full days to prep your week that's more than enough time in my book.. im like you i don't need a hole bunch of change i could eat eggs and oatmeal everyday for the rest of my life but it is good to change it up the streamer veggies are super cheap i think and take 5 mins in a microwave u can do those when you are getting the other stuff ready..

What are you studying btw..

Thanks so much, the list would be really helpful. I could probably manage to go shopping with someone when they go every once in a while but I talked it over with them and a list should be fine for me to get the stuff I want to have during the week.

I'm going to school to be an x-ray tehnologist, I only have til June then I graduate.
