hello im a 17 year old, 6 foot, 18.9 inch wide male and i weigh 220 pounds. for the best several months ive been trying to lose weight and for the past several weeks ive been working out really hard. i calculated my bmr at 1900, the conservative estimate, and i have been burning more than 3500 calories a day. i eat around 1500 calories, most of it is from chicken, then a power bar, tomatoes, apples and thats really it. i then work out for several hours and i mainly use the elliptical, i use it until it says ive burned 3400 calories which is like 23.18 miles. im at a rpm of 80 for my average, 40 for my low and 120 for my high. i usually use my hands and im in a firm standing posture when working out. i then run for .2 miles at 8 miles an hour, run in place for a minute, lift some weights, do some much push ups and thats it. also i dont work out every day, but it doenst explain why im not losing weight. so i havent lost any weight, or if i have its been very little. whats the problem here, ive done everything i was supposed to and im not losing weight. i feel like i wasted all this time at the gym, im furious. i also want to know are there any drugs i can take, please dont lecture me on how bad that is just give me the name of the drug and risks and i can decide for my self, id like both legal and not legal drugs so over the counter and under the counter options. id like diet and exercise recommendations as well. my goal is to lose a pound a day if not more, im not starving my self because as ive said i consume 1500 calories a day, but i then work out a lot so i should be losing a pound a day.

you aren't wasting your time. You said you've been working out for a few weeks ? Wait another 2 months and re-check all your measurements. If you are working out and exercising regularly you are benefiting, even if you don't see it. Real results take time.

You need to increase your calories to 2200 calories, you should be aiming for no more than 4-5lbs of weight loss per week, anymore and you will be losing muscle as well.

First you have to set your expectations right. Losing one pound a day will not do you any good. This is just impossible and even if it worked it would be for the short term only. You will get back all the weight that you lose and gain more weight in the long run.

You need to lose weight from your fat cells and not from your muscle. Quick weight loss will come from your muscles, as Paul mentioned. Muscles are your best friend when you want to lose weight.

Weight loss experts recommend losing a maximum of 2 pounds a week. This is the target that you should be aiming for to have long term results.

The numbers that you mentioned indicate that you have a major calorie imbalance. Consuming 1500 calories a day and burning 3500 is taking it to the extreme and it is counter productive. You should aim to create no more than 500 to 1000 calories deficit a day. So, if you are burning 3500 calories you should consume a minimum of 2500 calories. Your diet should be rich in protein and complex carbohydrates (the kind you can find in fruits and vegetables).

Follow the following tips and see the results for yourself:

1- Set your expectations right (no more than 2 pounds of weight loss a week).
2- Increase you calorie intake to 2500 calories daily.
3- Eat 5 to 6 meals a day (3 main meals and 2 snacks).
4- Decrease your consumption of sugary stuff as much as possible. The less the better.
5- Do 4 weight training sessions a week. Weight training build your muscles which is your best friend when it comes to weight loss.
6- Do HIIT exercises. High Intensity Interval training is a cardio training where you make short intense training bursts followed by slow intensity periods. This has shown to burn more calories than regular cardio training.

Follow these tips and you should start noticing results in a month. Keep in mind the more weight you lose the more difficult it will become to lose more. Motivation and consistency is your only way.

Good luck :)

You are not tracking properly. Your BMR and TDEE sounds right, but something is off in your calories in.
