The pumpernickle bread in this country is just colored bread. Whole wheat is better, but even better is sprouted grain & seed bread. I buy "Genesis" from "Food for Life" in the health food store.
And here I thought I was making a good choice! I was actually eating it as a bagel. So a whole wheat bagel is better? Also is eggs on a bagel better then on a whole wheat wrap?
I don't think it matters if it is a bagel or wrap - it's how much you want to consume. Try the new whole grain white bread, like four different companies make it now.
