Sport Whole Milk Vs Skim Milk

Sport Fitness
Hi guys,
How are u all doing. Hope good. Welll here i am with another question LOL. I was wondering about t he difference betwenen whole milk and skim milk.Should i go about drinking whole or skim? I understand whole milk has saturated fats in it but i came to know that saturated fats are good so now i am kinda confused.

Also about saturated fats, i came to know that it should be 1/3 of the fats. So i was wondering is eating beef which has lets say 10g of fats and and
4g of saturated fats fine?

Thanks a lot guys, really appreciate it.

I would personally stick to skim milk. As far as the beef, the little bit of saturated fats you get in lean beef is fine. Just like anything else, as long as it fits into your eating plan according to what you want to achieve, then you are fine.

Saturated fats is good in moderation. Bipennate posted a study recently on another board showing whole milk PWO is better than skim, encouraging a better protein synthesis.

great... I am gonna look into the study and meanwhile stick to skim milk. About the beef, i dont know if its lean beaf or not(probably not), it was pretty cheap so i was tempted to buy it but did'nt. Does it matter if its lean beaf or not? If its not is it still OK to eat if it had 1/3 saturated fats?

Thanks a lot guys........... Really Appreciate it.

Try and trim what fat you can. I never have ground beef that is < 90% lean, I trim fat before cooking and when I can afford it, I avoid chuck roasts and the really marbled cuts.

well the stuff i saw was premade beef paties LOL. Just wondering if i am buying freash meat from butcher and if the fat is trimmed off as much as he could then its fine right? regardless of what kinda meat it is( i mean from which part of the animal it comes from).

Thanks a lot again.

cheap cuts of steak aren't necessary fatty. top and bottom round are both quite lean, usually with just a small ribbon of fat that's easy to remove.

see, cheap steak usually isn't the most tender, and can dry out fast when grilling cuz of the low fat content. That's to our advantage, cuz cheap steak is great for stir fry, fajitas, chili, stew, or anything that uses thin slices, strips, cubes...etc.

its still beef, so don't go overboard, but it'll have less fat than even diet lean ground beef.

Yeah, I like round steaks. They're very lean, but tough. They're almost jerky grade.

thanks a lot guys for all teh inputs. I love steaks too. They are awesome. I was actually refering to the regular meet which one can get from the butcher shop LOL but i think the same rules apply right?

Thanks for the inputs.

Heres what I posted on another thread:

Drink whole, raw milk. Why? Because raw milk has the natural cultures and digestive enzymes in it necessary for your body to best utilize all of its nutrients, especially the protein in it. The fat in the raw milk is also incredibly beneficial, not only is it a naturally high source of CLA, but the fat in the milk helps to slow its digesting, which is important since the protein in milk is casein(a naturally slow digesting protein). The fat in milk also helps lower its glycemic index, meaning you will not get as much of an insulin response, and you are less prone to store fat. Pasteurized milk is just dead milk, it is really wortht he extra money to drink the raw stuff. I got through about two gallons of raw milk a week, and I am currently at 6% bodyfat. Raw, whole milk makes you strong, not fat

Skim milk is essentially 1% fat.

skimmed milk is a milk in which almost or all of the fat contents are removed whereas in whole milk all of it's fat contents are present.

Whole milk, also called full cream milk, contains about 3.5% milk fat for each cup serving. Whole milk is the dairy milk which has undergone only basic processing. Thus, it is more or less in its natural form. As a result it is rich in natural fat.
Skim milk is a dairy milk, which has all of its fat removed, by processing.Skimmed milk contains less than 0.5% milk fat which is made possible by skimming away as much fat as possible from whole milk.
