Sport whole foods.

i'm going on an "elimination diet" after Thanksgiving to see if i have any food sensitivities. basically, i can only eat whole foods. no gluten, no dairy, no processed foods...as far as meat, i can have wild salmon, Cornish game hen, all natural turkey with no fillers and such..i can use cold pressed extra virgin olive, sesame, safflower, sunflower, and flaxseed oils. i can have fresh frozen/fresh fruits and veggies, but no apples or citrus fruits. no onions, no white potatoes, no tomatoes, no corn. i can have almond and sesame butter, as long as it is all natural.

any suggestions that come to mind?? i want to try spaghetti squash, anyone have a good recipe for that? thanks!

oh, i can also have orange roughy, halibut, and tuna. thanks!

Are you doing this under the direction of a registered dietician or naturopath?

For spaghetti squash, just cut the squash in half, take out the seeds, and put cut side down in a baking dish with about 1cm of water in it. Bake at 350 for 30-45 mins, depending on how soft you like it. Take it out of the oven and let it cool a bit. Use a fork to scrape out the squash into a dish. Mix in some olive oil if desired. It's a great substitution for other carbs like pasta, potatoes or bread.

Are you allowed to have quinoa? That's another good one to try :)

myfoodmyhealth.com is a site that we used when my significant other had to do this type of diet earlier this year, but you have to pay for it.... it had a few ideas but there might be better ones out there!

It's annoying at first, but once you figure out a few recipes, you'll be fine... the hardest part will be gatherings or restaurants...

thanks so much, PLBFitness! unfortunately, i'm supposed to avoid quinoa and other grain substitutes since a lot of people who are sensitive to grains can be sensitive to their subs as well.
