Who is in their 30's ?

well since we have a teen thread, I figured I would post one for us older folk.

I started working out in April, and I am doing well, I will be in the best shape of my life soon. this forum is great

I'm not 30 yet, but I'm getting close. I'll be there in 2 yrs. : /

I am 35. I been pursuing the healthy lifestyle since August of 2005. I have been lifting weights fairly seriously now since around January of this year.

32 :D and counting. Started lifting heavy December 17 2005. Still going strong, never felt better either. Before that light weights, and loads of cardio and pliates, belly dancing etc. Love lifting far more than anything else I've done in the past. I have two boys as well- 4 and almost 6 :D

My boys are 6 and 9. I focus my workouts towards the outdoor sports I like, such as Mtn. Biking and Rock Climbing. I will be happy with another 30-50 pounds gone.

I am 37 and started working out after 2 kids and high cholesterol :( When I wanted to know more and learn about how the body works, etc., I got certified to be a Personal Trainer (4 years ago). Now I teach group fitness classes and train at my local gym! :)

It's a good thing this thread came up now, so I can truthfully respond in it. In the waning days of 39 here. Started getting healthy in May '05, and have been doing a mix of cardio and strength training, plus some classes offered at the gym I go to. I've dropped a bit of weight in that time, but am hoping to drop more.

I turned 30 late June, so I'm barely in the club. I have been off and on with fitness my whole life, although probly way more on than off. Just trying to get back to my trim self after the last off period of a few years. Started last July or August I believe, and I think I'd whip my 21 year old self if we ever met through some freakish Star Trek plotline. I do know that the 21 year old kid who used to live across the way tried to work out with me, but gave up cause he couldn't keep up. And my last girlfriend was 21 and she could keep up when I "ahem" worked her out.

30 in november. Just lost 45 pounds with another 25 to go. I had never been over weight but I guess my metabolism changed, and my food portions didn't:eek:
No kids, and I am unfortunately going through a separation right now.

On a happier note I love hiking, swimming, lifting, and cooking. All challenges in their own way if you make them.

So here's to the Dirty 30's. HIP HIP HOORAY!!!

I am 35 years young here, after 4 kids I have decided to change my life for the better. I have made this commitment before, but somehow this time is different, maybe it my age talking. Never been horribly unhealthy, but would really like to give mother nature a run for her money ;-)

I just hit my 30's. 11 years of Army combat arms jobs have done a number on my once very indestructable (I thought!) body. Now that I have abused it for a decade doing very brutal exercise routines and putting the wrong fuel in it, I am finally learning to do things the right way and treat it right. Otherwise I will be adding more problems on to a body that already has a very screwed up back. Funny how you don't appreciate things until they are gone!

Missy,

it must be our age...I am in the same boat, tried this before but never maintained it, But been doing it since April and showing great results.

trying to get my wife into the swing of it, once she is hooked, I think we can do well together!

Good Luck missy, I know how you feel!

I'm 31 here and although I have been working out 5 days per week for 5 years, I only recently started training differently and added weights. I have 3 kids that keep me on the go and I want to look FABULOUS when I'm in my 60s and 70s. I have a lot of work ahead, but I'm really trying and I look forward to the day when I cn look in the mirror and LIKE what I see! :D

I'm currently 34, will be 35 in April.
