Get ~15minutes of sun a day and make sure you're getting enough zinc.

And vitamin C - i guess just make sure you diets good.

But more importantly, avoids touch openings into your body like your ears, eye, mouth etc and just keep your body clean. I use to get sick all the time and by just doing the above i cant remember the last time :)

Havent had a cold for years, I think alot of sickness can be due to where you get confined with other people. In offices air conditioned classrooms etc.

Im never in a confined space for more than a couple of mins so I do alrite!

Yeah, i get a cold 2-3x a year..but those are all times im sitting next to a sick kid in class whos coughing or sneezing all over the place.

This year: zippo, nada, none.

Okay, honest, when I have a cold in the past, it rarely lasts for more than a day.

This year, I'm freaking cold as ever. I wear like super thick jackets, caps, and gloves... but to my surprise, I never gotten sick this year despite the chill.

Oh you want tips on how to not get colds...

1) Wash your hands with soap before you eat. Also, try keeping your hands away from your mouth, eyes, and nose.
2) If you hang out with children all day (or people in close quarters), be sure to buy some hand sanitizers or wipes.
3) If you talk on the phone, be sure to wipe it every so often with some spray.

I would give you food tips... but honestly no single food contributes to not being sick... however I believe if you want a food tip, try eating / drinking oranges at least once a day.

PS. My cold is getting better, and i got a grapefruit today which im gonna eat soon

Why does everyone give advice to avoid microbes instead of advice to take care of and prepare your body? Normal sanitary measures sure, but sanitizers and sprays for everyday use and not normal cleaning? Helllllloooo multi-drug resistant strains..

Iawtc. Just take it like a man... or a woman. Getting sick is for babies and old people, anyway. :SaiyanSmilie_anim:

an apple a day keeps the doctor away LOL

Seriously I haven't gotten sick in a long time. I like to attribute it to my diet and exercise. My family gets colds from time to time but I don't get them. I really believe that my lifestyle has my immune system amped.

even the last bout of the flu that my kids had I was able to avoid. When there is a cold or bug going around the house I wash my hands quite a bit.

Lol, that made me laugh, she lives in England, where do you suggest she finds some sun? :p

As for advice about colds, apart from the obvious stuff like not french kissing someone with a cold the best advice is to just take care of yourself all year round and eat well.

I used to get 3 or 4 colds a year. Since I started eat and training all the time I've had 1 cold in 2 years, and even that was actually a fever so technically I think I'm cold free for 2 years now without taking any special precautions

My mom takes Vit C and a garlic pill every day and hasnt been sick in ages. I dont get sick but maybe once a year when the seasons change. However my wife and her family get sick all the time. Of course they dont exercise or eat like I do. Her mom eats maybe once a day, yet wonders why she is always tired and sick. Still I get offered nutritional advice...

I eat well, take a multi-vitamin/fish oil supps every day and have not had a cold for a long long time. You can bet I'm in places with people sneezing and coughing but I don't catch what they've got.

I eat well and take mutli vitamins (plus a vitamin C). I do not get sick very often. But, I have a compromised immune system and when I do get sick, it SUCKS!

As a side note, I get allergies pretty bad in the seasons and it sometimes feels as bad as a cold.

I eat well, wash my hands regularly, clean regularly, exercise regularly, and I still get colds the same as always. Heh, I have one right now, and yes, it sucks. I'm in an office with 70 people 3 days a week, and in class all day 2 days a week with hundreds of others, so I guess I'm more susceptible?

I dunno what you wear but I know people who wear clothing suited for summer in winter and sneeze and cough all the time.
