Who can give me info to feed on that i can do the rest of my life?

I was thinking maybe i should just go on a normal diet and lose all of this weight (like 100 lb) and then, make lifestyle changes to maintain it. What is the best way to lose weight? I have a lot to lose..

My weight fluctuates between 225-231. I have approximately 100 lb to lose, even though I'd be happy at a firm 150 lb or 160 lb.
