I've been wanting to know how many calories I should consume in a typical day. Every cal calculator I go has told me different things, whether it be 2700 calories or 2300 calories a day.

Does anyone know the most effective way to calculate how many calories I should eat in a day for weight loss. I weigh 340 pounds, I am 6 feet tall and I am a 25 year old male.

Thank you very much =)

Hey - I dont think you should focus so much on counting calories. What is more important is the types of foods you're eating and the amount.

focus on the super foods. If you want more info feel free to message me.

Try http://www.cordianet.com/calculator.htm (the one on the left)

Most calculators don't work properly when you're overweight as they don't discern between muscle and fat.

This one avoids that by working with the ideal lean mass for your height and age. much more realistic.

Tourny

Thank you Tourney, 1800 calories seems more legit

and LiveinHealth, I have been consuming more fresh fruit and veggie juice (I purchased a juicer). I think I'm covered.
