Honestly, I always go for the protein supplement with the least extra crap in it. (I go with whey.) If I need anything extra, then I make my own mix with milk/almond milk and fruit. Almost anything you mix it with will contain enough carbs and fat for optimal recovery. I also especially don't believe in supplements that come with vitamins, because usually they have a high concentration that you're just going to piss out in a couple hours.
In the long run, I would also go with the larger tubs, as those will give you the best value for your money. That being said, before buying a large supply, I would get a small container of whatever you try to ensure your body's tolerance to it. (A lot of people have intolerance towards whey, for instance.)
Overall, the decision is largely based on your opinion and what other supplies you have. Hope that helps.
